At the end of the day, there is no accounting for ignorance, rudeness, and general disregard for others.
This country, unfortunately, does not seem to want for the above.

<p>sad but so true.</p>

<p>I am sorry that people asked that of you. I guess I am a little hardened after 20+ yrs. of questions. I have had them all, here are just some more besides what I have already posted:
Don't you feel bad that you are dragging your kids around?
Are you worried that your kids might not ever have roots?
I can't believe you are forcing them to move again, aren't they upset?
Are you worried that he is cheating on you, I mean, afterall he is gone for many months in a deployed area?
What are you going to do while he is gone, won't it be hard to be alone (IMO that is the stupidest ?)
How can you live without your car for 6 weeks to be shipped?
Why aren't you upset that they are sending him (2nd stupidest ?, as if I scream it will change things)
You're telling me that the military kicks you out of base housing in 30 days if he dies?
Oh they are sending you there? Are you okay with that? (3rd stupidest ?, refer to 2nd response)</p>

<p>I have heard alot and you need to know that people will always ask, even family...many people just don't get it</p>

<p>Navy now how do I get to do the colors...please, please teach us</p>

<p>I have to go, but I still stand behind my premise:
the US is well-populated w/ ignorant people. Perhaps, just perhaps, [I assume woman to woman] the person asking really wants to know: Are you worried that . . . .
w/out trying to make a comment on the military lifestyle.
Again, we weren't there and perhaps these questions are asked w/ a sneer int ehir face as spittle came out of their mouths. BUT, isn't it difficult to live w/out a car for 6 weeks?</p>

<p>Good luck!</p>

<p>Colors! Now that is a good question.
Later.</p>

<p>bold, italics and underline b /b, i /i u /u all in the [] with the text in between</p>

<p>For Color [ followed by the phrase color=blue followed by the ] then the text you want blue then [ followed by /color and finally ] Do not leave any spaces in the code. Can have spaces in your text</p>

<p>my text in blue
my text in red</p>

<p>Size is the same but substitute size=+2 for the color=blue</p>

<p>Number can be any value, getting larger as the number increases</p>

<p>How is this for size 2
This is size 3</p>

<p>One more time:</p>

<p>For all questions about quoting text, highlighting text, bold, italics, colors, etc:</p>

<p><a href="http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/misc.php?do=bbcode%5B/url%5D"&gt;http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/misc.php?do=bbcode&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/p>

<p>Give it a try.</p>

<p>First, I'd like to thank navy2010 for the excellent tutorial and congratulate her mid on his special day! Did he already have the cocktail hour courtesy of the academy? I'd also like to thank bill0510 for the laughs "You ARE going to die," and other food for thought. The young adults' comments provide valuable perspective and authenticity to the discussion. </p>

<p>Teaching typically isn't at the top of the list when we think of dangerous professions. I want to try out the quote box to share something I read in the November issue of the National Education Association journal.</p>

<p>
[quote]
Campus Cops: Teachers come to school every day armed with knowledge, patience, extra Kleenex...But some Nevada law enforcement officials think it would be a good idea for them to start coming armed with, well, arms. Their proposal: Let teachers become trained and equipped to serve as reserve school police officers, in an effort to boost the dwindling number of full-time campus police. The proposal would apply to K-12 teachers and higher education faculty. (A move by one Nevada lawmaker to let ALL eligible teachers bring concealed weapons on campus failed earlier this year.)
