Dealing with obnoxious teachers

My newspaper teacher is off her rocker... not enough to formally complain to a GC, but she saps the joy right out of Newspaper. Last year, it was a pretty cool class, but as soon as she came... hell.

She's just out of college, and we get all sorts of stories about her sorority life and college crushes. She sucks up to the rich girls, snaps at any suggestions about making the class better, and tells us repetedly that she enjoys giving us bad grades. She uses IM terms all the time ("I'll brb, peeps!") and doesn't like news articles. ("Why write about the blood drive? Let's have another article about people wearing socks with flipflops.")

Should I give up on Newspaper and get away from this loon, or stick it out so I can slap "Senior Editor" on my resume next year?

Anyone have experience with dealing with obnoxious teachers? Any good advice?

Thats rough. My teacher let us pick ALL the stories in Journalism class. It was a cool class. Don't let her get to ya. Just talk to her and let her know that you think the paper is going in the wrong direction. It may work.

she sounds funny/cool. maybe its YOU who has the problem.

Now, the woman in question has no idea how to run a newspaper, and it is obvious she is destroying it.
Is there any way to get her referred out of the building through the administration?
And finally, do the rich girls also hate the woman (excessive sucking-up)? Money talks, and this can be used to your advantage.

Oh God, do you go to one of those schools where the parents all throw fits when their kids don't get As and they have enough money to overpower the teachers?

LOL, the same exact thing is going on in my yearbook class, the teacher is a complete dumbass who doesn't know what shes doing and hates me because I don't suck up to her like the other people in the class (who happen to like yearbook because they don't do *****). I've been trying to get out of it but the principal says that "I need to deal with my problems and not run away from them" please...

Just mock the teacher relentlessly outside of class. It helps.

write her an anonymous email from a fake email account or type an anonymous letter and put it in her mailbox outlining your concerns. see if she changes any.

When you have obnoxious teachers, the best thing you can do is complain and, if necessary, make fun of her with your friends. :)

Tell her that if you wear socks with flip-flops, they can't stay on b/c the thing can't fit between your toes.
Maybe she'll start questioning life and the world, and quit out of a mid-life crisis.

Though maybe that only works with band teachers.

or just write about the socks with flip-flops but write it really poorly to make the paper and her look bad

I think oneiros lykos8 is on to something.

slap her in the face with an eraser, chase her with a stapler, staple her breasts to a stack of papers.
