As a former college reject, these are some great tips! One quote that stuck out with me:
“Embrace those schools that have embraced you. Select the one that best suits your needs and prepare to have a great higher-education experience. Yes, indeed; there is life after rejection.”
Couldn’t have said it any better.
I recently made a 7 minute speech to help high school seniors get over college rejection.
Surprisingly, it gained a ton of traction on Facebook: 800+ Likes, 18k+ Views, & 200+ Shares. People loved the message so much… Since we share the same values, I would love to share it with you.

y’know, the best way to deal with rejection is apply to a lot of schools. Don’t just have one dream university, have a few (make it realistic too, and one unrealistic just for fun). Then, apply to target schools you know you won’t regret if you are entering, then apply for a safe school. After the rejections and acceptances come out, you will get rejected by some and accepted by some, and just hope you get accepted into one or a few of your dream schools.
Personally, I got rejected into all my realistic dream colleges. Yet I got accepted into my unrealistic dream university, and got into a favorable target school I’m fine with attending. So they offset the pain of rejection, and I end up a happy man.
