I am currently attending University of Houston as a freshmen. It is my first semester and everything is going good and I have been doing well in all my classes. Last night I checked my UH student center and saw that I have a Dean's Hold and have to meet with an academic advisor. What does it mean and am I in trouble? My grades have been good so far except for my first test in Political Science last week which I didn't do as good as I thought I would. Can anyone explain this to me and will this effect my financial aid?

Maybe it’s just a check-in type of thing they do for all freshmen.

Look in your student handbook. Chances are it will explain in there.
