I have a 31 ACT 2000 SAT.. I know that is low.. BUT I have a 4.0 and good ECs... plus tons of community service. My project was pretty good...

Do I have any shot... I know they say the average is 33 but I am completely out of the picture with a 31?

you have a great shot with that 31...dont worry

yah... you have a good chance....

Really? B/c Some of the Tulane kids said a 31 only got them 22k....
Is there anyone you know of who has actually got the scholarship with a lower score???

Also if anyone else has applied I would like to swap ideas and get opinions..
pm me... Thanks!

Someone at my school won the 22k scholarship. She had a 30 on her ACT, but only a 3.7 GPA.

You on the other hand, have a 4.0. So, you should have a great shot. Just apply!

Tulane awards the 18k and the 22k when they read your application and accept you. You have to apply for the Dean's Honor Scholarship and they have no idea if you will or not. If you receive the DHS, you give up the 22k scholarship.

As far as the project, the only advice I can offer is that it should reflect you.

I have already applied for the scholarship and personally I really like my project...I didn't get any funds with acceptance BUT they only had my ACT of 26... the 31 will be there for the DHS...

Has anyone else applied for this?

If you are happy with your project, that's the best way to be! You know yourself best. Congratulations on getting your application in early. Good luck in February!

ice sickle, how did you boost your ACT score by 5 points

This is going to be really bad for my home state.. but actually my senior year I moved to Texas and the course work is a lot more difficult so I challenge myself more and they offered an SAT prep class.. which helped a little... but not as much as just pushing yourself more in class...
Even though I like the academics here, I miss the people in my home state! Far less bitter (and far more conservative!)

Oh and my SAT went from a 1690 to a 2000

Please.. anyone else???

Don't worry man. I'm pretty confident that you're going to get the scholarship. I know two people who have won similiar scholarships at Tulane, and they were not that smart. So you should be okay.

just make sure to proofread all essays, and be certain that your "box project" thingy is good.

Thank you for all your positive feedback!!! but is there anyone else?

Did you post this on the Tulane forum?

The one on their website.. I tried to post but it wouldn't let me...

Bump!!! Bump !!! Bump!!!!

Yeah she did respond to this post... but they are still pushing the 33.. I don't know.. I really need this scholarship.. otherwise I have to go to The University of Texas El Paso!!! Ahhhhh!!!!
