Hello all,

Hope you're enjoying your break! Quick question: where is the Dean's List Honors/Provost's Honors recorded? I believe I qualified for it this past term (4.0, 13 graded units/15 total units), but I don't see it on my DPR even though the new cumulative grade has been adjusted and all of my new grades have been updated on URSA. Does this show up later? Or is it not even on the DPR (if it IS on the DPR, which section should it be in)...?

Thanks!

It’s in the UCLA Course Work section. It lists the terms and the courses you took that term and if you made the list, it will say “DEAN’S HONOR LIST” after it lists your course work.

eg:
Term 09F
COURSE 1A COURSE TITLE A 4.0
COURSE 24C COURSE TITLE A 5.0
COURSE 3B COURSE TITLE A 4.0
DEAN'S HONOR LIST

Hmm, okay. Because mine reads exactly like yours (but with different courses)- same units and grades and everything, and it doesn’t say that…it just says “honors content” for my classes that counted for honors units.

One of my classes was P/NP (I had 13 graded units, and an SRP P/NP class that was 2 units), and my prof. just submitted my grade this morning I believe. Do you think it just might not be processed yet, even though the final grade is on URSA? Or should I just email the honors dept. and ask them when school starts again?

Thanks for your help!

Your new cumulative GPA is calculated two weeks after finals, so it’ll probably show up on your DPR on Friday or early next week. Honestly though, it’s really not a big deal, so I wouldn’t stress over it. Your 4.0 is certainly impressive, but just be happy with your grades and don’t get too worked up about the Dean’s List. I’m a third year and I’ve been on the Dean’s List every quarter except for one, but I’ve never gotten any benefits from it other than just my internal pride (in other words, I wouldn’t bother putting it on a resume or anything, since your GPA already reflects the fact that you get good grades)

It’s noted for every quarter on your transcript.

Thanks for the info, guys. Ray- while I know it’s not that important, I feel that since I’ve earned it, it should be officially noted like it’s supposed to be. I’ll just wait it out and contact honors if it doesn’t show up, since I guess they’re in charge of it.

Happy holidays everyone! =)

this happened to me too! Think_Different, has it shown up on your DPR yet? I don’t have the proper annotation on mine yet…

No, it isn’t up. The only thing I can think of is that maybe they update the Provost’s Honors List when they open back up for the quarter. I guess if it’s not an automated thing (i.e. if it’s input by actual humans, lol) then it wouldn’t be done until they return. The person above mentioned the Dean’s List, but I believe that’s only for the School of Engineering…L&S uses Provost’s Honors.

Also, I noticed that my honors college progress card does not yet show my updated GPA and honors unit count; it says this takes 2-4 weeks after the grades are submitted to complete. Maybe they do Provost’s List at the same time (since I believe Honors is in charge of both)…? Idk. If I find out, I’ll let you know (and please do the same for me)! ;)
