Dean's Scholar...where is it?

We will wait, thanks. She still has several other applications out to schools we won’t hear from until then anyway. We’ll hope for the best.

My D received her accept. letter on Friday; I have not seen it yet so I don’t know if there is a scholarship (and she does not know enough to read it all to see — she said Woot! and started texting her relatives & friends)-- I have to go get it & read the whole thing (I think she stopped at “It is with great pleasure…”)

In any case it does not matter just yet whether there is a scholarship mentioned in that letter. As someone else noted, our FAFSA has not yet been submitted, and except for our state U, the other schools to which she applied have not yet weighed in with either acceptances or fin. aid. letters.

She really likes Fordham a lot and hopes she can go there—but if their cost will be 56k/yr & up with no grants or scholarships, and one or more of the other schools will be way less—well it is she who will be taking out the loans. We’ll visit all of them at their accepted student days and we’ll discuss $$$$ as a family and then she will decide.

Does GPA factor into Dean’s Scholars standard as well? Or just SAT score?

Both. It’s a combination of GPA, Test scores, and probably other intangibles.
