Dean's Scholars Honors Fall 2012 Acceptances!

Hey guys, I got my acceptance to Dean's Scholars recently and I was wondering who else received their acceptance letters!

Hey. I got mine back in mid-November. Have you decided if you are going to UT yet. I haven’t committed yet or anything?

Got mine towards the end of December, but leaning towards Harvard. I want to hear results for fortyacres scholarship before I decide.

Jeez, Congratulations on getting into Harvard! I think I’d probably take Harvard over Dean’s Scholars… Are they giving the Forty Acres to 15 students this year?

I heard it was 75, but then again my source is College Confidential so I don’t know how reliable that information is.

75 is the ideal number they want to reach in the near future, but I heard it’s not quite that large for the upcoming year…

Does anyone know when the second wave of decisions come out?

When did you all apply to Dean’s Scholars?

Applied 11/25/11
Decision 2/8/12

Have all of the acceptance letters for the Dean’s Scholars Honors Program been mailed out already? I’m not sure how many waves of acceptances there are.

Was attendance at the Open House a requirement for receiving a Dean’s Scholars scholarship? My son was unable to attend. When are scholarship notifications mailed out?

I still haven’t received anything. I should at least receive a rejection letter if I don’t make it, right?

If I still haven’t heard back from DS by now, does that mean I have been rejected from the program?

This late, I would assume rejection. Sorry.

Actually, it’s possible that you were waitlisted. I just received an email from UT that offered me a spot on the wait list…which is somewhat better than an outright rejection I guess.

Has anyone on the waitlist heard back from Dean’s Scholars yet as to the final decision?

As a reminder, waitlist activity will continue and even pick up after May 1, when some of those accepted decline in favor of other schools, leaving open DS spots to fill. So hang in there!
