Dean's Scholarship Chances?

Hey so I'm instate, and I am considering applying to Tulane, but I was wondering if I would be competitive for a full ride. Anyway, here's my stats:
GPA: 3.9 UW, 4.5 W
Rank: 6/350
My school is not very good btw
SAT: 780 CR, 690 M, 730 W (2200 total)
SAT II: 790 US history, 690 Lit, 710 math 2
EC's: Pres of history club 10th grade, treasurer of beta club 11th grade, founder of debate club 11th grade, pres of debate club 12th grade, vp of young dems 12th grade.

So assuming I can make a decent project, do I have a good chance of getting DHS or a full ride?

full ride most likely because i have basically the same stats except im valedictorian and im pretty sure ill get a full ride

Won't you both be considered for the Louisiana scholarships? I'd think if they could offer you full tuition with the state scholarships, they'd save the DHS for out of staters. JMO

If you are strong LA candidates, there are many scholarships to apply for, including this one that clearly trumps the DHS Hainkel Louisiana Scholars Award
And if you are a val, fromthesouth, don't you also get this $5k? Valedictorian Scholarship
Don't get me wrong, the DHS is great and we love it, but there is a lot of $$ available to the LA students, including the legislative scholarship, that covers full tuition and is renewable as well (though I believe you have to hope your legislator who nominated you stays in office all 4 years, or you have to get the new one to recommend you again) Tulane University - Tulane Legislative Scholarship Guidelines http://admission.tulane.edu/documents/Legislative%20Scholarship%20QA%20for%20Students%20and%20Parents%20(2).doc

i have a friend in ruston that can give the legislative scholarship.

im not applying to DHS

well at any rate do you guys think my chances are good for full tuition/full ride?

Nobody's chances for the DHS are "good." But your chances aren't abysmal either, so go ahead and apply.

it was my understanding that it was given out solely based on your project, was I misinformed?
