Dean's Scholarship IU

For Hutton, I assume that’s unweighted, right?

@bigboyk_ I believe IU uses weighted GPA’s.

Bro, if they did that’d be such a bless, but it seems way good to be true. Honors colleges at state school are meant to attract Ivy caliber kids who want to save money on their education (and rightfully so) for the opportunities to have special connections and learning opportunities like study abroad, etc. If Hutton used weighted, then so many direct admit candidates would qualify for the honors college. Sorry to make this so long, but I have a 99% feeling that the GPA requirement is unweighted :((

@bigboyk_ Below is the criteria for auto-admit to Hutton: my comment about IU using weighted GPA’s was referencing the “or top 7.5% class rank” part. For example, our high school uses weighted GPA for ranking students and since IU uses those rankings, they are in effect using weighted GPA. Hope that helps clear it up!

GPA ACT OLD SAT NEW SAT
3.90 (or top 7.5% class rank) … and a ≥ 32 … or ≥ 1390 … or ≥ 1440
3.85 (or top 10% class rank) … and a ≥ 34 … or ≥ 1470 … or ≥ 1510

Oh wow, I totally understand then! Applicants who had lots of honors/ap/ib courses will have a field day then!
