Dean's Scholarship?

Well, I have decided that I’m now definitely going to BU. I got a pretty good Financial Aid package, $25,000 which includes a $17,000 University Grant. I am wondering, however, why I didn’t get a Dean’s Scholarship. My stats are all above the average of the Dean Scholar stats. Do they only give Dean Scholarships to kids who don’t qualify for need-based aid? I just feel kind of dumb right now because I didn’t get into my top choice (Tufts) and didn’t even get to be a Dean’s Scholar at BU haha.

If you read the description for the Dean's Scholarship, it is said to be for students who have high stats, but who do not qualify for need-based financial aid. That is most likely why you did not get it. (For instance, I got the Dean's Scholarship after only getting a $2,000 loan as my financial aid package.)

Renewal criteria: students must satisfactorily complete at least 12 credits each semester and achieve a minimum grade point average of 3.00 for the prior academic year.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing AttitudinalFizz. I got a good financial package too and was wondering why I didn't get the Dean's Scholarship even though I met the criteria for the scholarship. Thanks for the clarification dramaqueen.

Yeah, I got the same thing as drama queen, Deans scholarship, and 2000 loan, but no need based grants or aid...
reading the stats, I am surprised I received it, my stats are quite lower than the average, SAT (1270/1600, 1920/2400) only in about the top 15% or 20% of my class...interesting?
