Dear future roommate essay

I just have a question about this:

should it be to the roommate you would have a stanford (so someone you know that you're sending a note with a new experience to) or a note of introduction to a new roommate (basically someone you've never met)?

I think the latter.

lol. hope that helps.

XDXD

new roomate

If I remember correctly, you are supposed to describe a personal experience that reveals something about your character. Don't make it an introduction of yourself - it should be more of an anecdote, I think.

dukeclassof09 is correct. It's not intended to actually be like a letter introducing yourself to a roommate. It's more like a personal experience or anecdote, some part of your character that might not come out in the other essays. My son who was admitted wrote about a necklace he got while on an exchange trip to Japan, but then lost at Scout Camp, and what it meant to him. My wait-listed son wrote about his love of sandwiches. So this is a chance to discuss something less weighty than the other essays, but still something that reveals your character.
