Dear people, evaluate if i can go to NYU

Hi, i am a rising senior who wants to go NYU- Stern
Male, International Student
My GPA: 3.97, 7th out of 130ppl
SAT: 2030 SAT 2: Chem 760
ACT: 30
Extracurriculum:
11 - Treasurer in SC, journalist for my school newspaper, member of fine art, varsity soccer team, Student Ministry, Math team, Drama Club
* Created a study group for AP Chemistry
10 - JV tennis, member of fine art, Math team, Drama Club, Scholastic Bowl
9 - V Football, JV Basketball, Track

*I am planning on making Asian Club this year at my school.

i know that my clubs has changed a lot. My school in 9th and in 10,11,12 are different. I tried diverse sports, because I like to play sports and searched for anything i am good at.

Volunteer
for 110hrs at a handicapped children Hospital
for 60hrs at volunteering for national conference

I go to small private school that does not provide much AP Courses.
I took AP Calculus AB, US History for my school. (5,3)
Studied by myself for AP Statistics and Micro Econ (4, 5)

I know my SAT is low. But the problem i face is that i don't have much opportunity to retake. First, i need to do SAT2 in october and SAT in November. NYU's early application is on November 1st.

my questions is
1) Does NYU accept additional score after the dead line?
2) is it better to submit Early Decision with SAT 2030 or Regular with SAT - maybe like 2150?
3) Do you think it is hard for me to get it? If you do, can you tell me what i should do?

oh one more, i have studied in America for 4 years. Do NYU expect me to submit TOEFL score?

Since you are an international, it will be a major crapshoot whether you will get accepted. Internationals get minimum aid also. As far as raw stats go, you are below average, maybe 25%tile according to collegeboard for NYU.

a breakdown of your SAT scores will help us (cr, math, writing)

It is CR:650, Math:800, Wri: 580
I did so bad in writing than i normally get…

u know u can just report the best out of each section from all the times you have taken it?

it’s better to report early decision with a 2150. haha i felt like giving the jerk answer :)

That 800 on the math along with ED could definitely get into Stern buttttttt… You won’t get a penny in the form of financial aid… from nyu, that is.

It’d be better to get the higher SAT score (raise your Critical reading and Writing) and apply regular decision to have a better shot

@Lobzz,

800 in math wouldn’t guaranty into Stern. As a current Stern Student, most of the people here have 2200+ SAT scores.

^Yeah, I guess you’re right. I forgot to ask what major he wanted at Stern. Some are much more math-oriented than others. But an 800 would help, nontheless

Since NYU accept 1)SAT&SAT 2)ACT 3)SAT&AP,

Should i take SAT1 on October and use my AP grades?? or just take SAT2 for ED?

Isn’t it same whatever my major is in Stern? i mean, if i tell them i want to do Finance,

would it be harder to get admission than accounting.

I am kind of good at Math. I took Calc AB -if my school offered BC i could have done it and studied AP Stats by myself, and going to take College math course.
