list is up
if you didnt get in, dont lose hope, there were a few admits from the WL during the course of last yr - however, i wouldnt bank on it. wherever you are, you will have a great time at uva, and dont be shy to stop by and visit!

:(

edited for usefulnes:

serious question- do applicants rejected or placed on the waitlist have priority consideration if applying to live in Brown as a second year?

I ask because as you know I am ranked number one on the waitlist, and I have a friend whose name I dont see on there at all. I will be fine living in scholars dorms first year, but its still upsetting...

as a side note, I and 4 good friends going to uva applied to brown, 3 got in (one had the #1 ranked app!) i git waitlist and i dont see the other on there at all. pooop

I'm in :), although towards the tail end of the list. Nice new 3d look on the website.

where is the list?

nvm...i found it

im afraid to say that i dont think youll have any kind of priority for next year. if you do manage to get off of the waitlist this yr tho, then you would be in. it did happen last yr, like i said.

hazel, may I please trouble you to explain the Brown College? I took a look at the site and I must say Grand Poobah sounds good but pales in comparison to Captain Jack Sparrow Hot Pirate Booty. I can only hope the looks match the description. Otherwise a false advertising claim might be in order. In any case, having viewed the course descriptions I would greatly appreciate a better understanding of Brown.

BOOTY! well actually those are last year's officers - booty is now poobah!! she's definitely pretty. :D i dunno what the current treasurer is gonna call herself (a mutual friend of ehiunno and myself), but they get to make up the name each yr. you should have guessed they were not from this yr bc both webmasters listed there are BOYS and i am not a boy. :P

also i dunno which courses you viewed - in the spring brown residents teach courses; in the fall there are also a number of courses offered through brown which are interdisciplinary or just fun in nature.

Is brown for ppl who would like to go into teaching?

im in the 5 yr educ program, though im the only one i know in brown in the program. its not based on what you want to study - we have ppl from the college, eschool, aschool, and nursing (and me in clas/curry). the ppl who teach their own classes just do it for fun - classes about ppls fav books and bands and stuff were common last semester at least. we're considering doing one on rubik's cubes next spring :D
