** YEAH! WE'RE GOING TO STANFORD **

w00t

Post if you're still happy

Of course I'm still happy! Four months till admit weekend!

why are you happy? earthquakes, other disasters in California soaring property prices and taxes, the system is a mess WHY CALIFORNIA? And you couldnt get into an IVY.. though Stanford is still considered almost IVY.

oh yes, because earthquakes happen everyday, and we all plan to buy houses during our undergrad career, and also get involved directly in the government of CA.

oh no, none of us got in to ivies, where we could all tear each other apart and be miserable.

oh yes, stanford is ALMOST and ivy. not quiet though...not quite.

How about this:

MrRomantic405 gets into every Ivy and Stanford, and then chooses otherwise.

Until then, we rock!

DUDE!!! MrRomantic. Why so much hate. Stanford is not almost an Ivy. Its not an Ivy, because being an Ivy means being in a sucky sports league. Stanford will give you a better education that most of the ivies. Besides HPY, which are on the same level as Stanford, the rest are likely below it. So don't hate on our school. If I get into Harvard, I still will choose Stanford, and will be the better for it because I will have a life in college.

MrRomantic, don't worry you are going to a just barely top 20 school (it seems like you are into prestige and what not).

WHY CALIFORNIA?

Because to a Marylander, California is heaven.

AHHHHH! I still can't believe that I'm going to Stanford!!!! SO....happy!!!!!

MRromantic is just trying to get attention....

Does anyone else have this awful feeling of being stupid compared to all the other admits? Is it paranoia? Is it just me? If it is then that feeling is probably true. I'm just afraid that I end up being the stupidest of the smart. I'm not sure how that will be.

"oh yes, because earthquakes happen everyday, and we all plan to buy houses during our undergrad career, and also get involved directly in the government of CA.

SO HIDE IN CALIFORNIA NO COMPETITION JUST AT THE JUICE BAR LOL

oh yes, stanford is ALMOST and ivy. not quiet though...not quite.

ABOVE STATEMENT IS ILLITERATE. YOU BELONG AT STANFORD.

Mr. Romantic is one (or possibly two) of two things: a troll, or a moron.

Stanford isn't Ivy, but I can guarantee it is equal to (if not better than) Cornell, Brown, Dartmouth, Columbia, UPenn, Harvard, Yale, and Princeton.

All are excellent schools, and MrRomantic: I recommend you get into a school, and secure your bragging rights before trying to criticize the accomplishments of others :)

id rather have an earthquake every now and then, which dont even really do much, ive lived in california all my life and the worst weve had is a couple bricks fall off our chimney, than freeze to death back east. also, id rather have a directors cup caliber athletics program, and an avid social scene than podunk football programs or food clubs. and btw, stanford has a lower admit % than most ivies so the whole 'almost ivy' thing doesnt really work

neemi- I know exactly what you mean about worry about being the stupidest of the smart. I keep wondering if the admissions office made a mistake, or if I'm dreaming? Nice to know I'm not alone...

Do you really have nothing better to do than come to the Stanford 2010 forum to make fun of Stanford?

Alcoholics Anonymous called, you've been kicked out for skipping too many meetings and eating too many babies.

Honestly, I and FFX1619 are practically auto-admits at Harvard, Princeton, and Yale (the only 3 on Stanford's caliber) and we would easily pick Stanford over Harvard and Princeton.

Harvard is a joke. No social life and a subpar undergraduate focus, nuff said.

Princeton has great undergraduate education which may even be better than Stanford's but Pton's social scene is exclusive, elitist with the eating clubs. Believe me, I've contacted a ****load of students about this and every person mentions how it almost always appeals to the rich, snobby white kids leaving many minorities who really dont have that much money basically screwed and out of the mainstream. Before you even argue with me about this, go to the dailyprincetonian online and read the articles by the students themselves.

And Princeton has a history of practicing strategic admissions. If you want to argue with this then read the Revealed Preference Report. Why would I ever go to a school which basically admits it can't compete with the students at Harvard, Yale, and Stanford? Pton's the only elite 4 with an ED program which basically says it all.

The only school that I would probably pick over Stanford is Yale.

I don't know about auto-admits but Diamond, we do kick ass.

Stanford rocks. Period.

This has been bugging me for a while: Stanford should be on the front page of the CC forums. It is easy to access all the IVs, but harder to access Stanford. Granted its not THAT bad, but I think Stanford deserves some more respect.....

Yeah I'm not even going to bother applying to Harvard or Princeton.
I mean seriously, you have a laid-back, friednly atmosphere and california weather vs snobby rich kids and cold weather, when the academics are practically equal?
I don't see any question.

id go with the troll for mr. romantic.
he gives people going to vanderbilt a very bad name.

STANFORD ROCKS!!

and i agree with diamondt. many of us are practically shoe-ins at HYP, but why would we want to go anywhere else? as for the bit about yale, the campus is nice, new haven is not. scary new haven vs. sunny california... hmmmm...

yeah, no contest.

Romantic goes to Vanderbilt?
