Death to Hope

All dreams and aspirations burned in a single instant
All hopes die in a blaze of forced repent
No longer wondering, simply forlorn,
The past is dead, the present is born.
So long as men wonder they do not know the end
Now wonder no more and see the Fates' intent
Dreams and aspirations dried up like water
Falling as tears and shame even hotter
Left with an unspeakable thirst for what could have been
Yet empty of all emotions save the burning skin.
You have suffered all that could be, so now you say
To man and world I dare you, do your worst!
As I suffer sorrows now, dissapointment and shame,
A torrent of emptiness, a raging thirst,
I know that it is not the end;
Though doom comes now, such the future does not portend.
Aspirations simply shifted to a different path
I still live on as I would have, to my last.
For failure comes to all those who ever try,
But the greatest failure comes to those who never cry.

That’s rather dramatic.

Harvard is not the be-all and end-all of an education. In fact, there has been a lot of soul searching there about whether they do in fact provide a very high quality undergraduate education.

Really good writing, I don’t agree with the theme though. ;)

I like it, and I think with the last few lines it makes it more true.

The first part is the feel of rejection one feels right after opening the letter/email and not seeing the fabled “Congradulation”.

the lines-

“Though doom comes now, such the future does not portend.
Aspirations simply shifted to a different path
I still live on as I would have, to my last.
For failure comes to all those who ever try,
But the greatest failure comes to those who never cry.”

Show that as time passes we will get over it and be happy and that we are better for applying and trying and crying than sitting safely on our safety schools acceptances.

you crazay haha

lol, sack up

your hot tears of shame amuse me.
