Debate Camps (Lincoln Douglas)

I would like to attend a debate camp this summer for LD style debate. I have all the basics down. What camp would you recommend for someone wanting to take their skills to the next level? I have been competing on the national circuit. I've read that Victory Briefs and Univ. of Iowa are good. I live in PA which is a plane flight from both these. I'd appreciate any feedback on either of these two camps. Also, if anyone can recommend any other camps which may be closer to the east coast, I'd appreciate it.

NSD(app over)
SNFI(ad sem only, i've done tihs and loved it)
VBI

not worth anywhere else

National Symposium for Debate is the best debate camp for both local and national circuit debate. Its in Colorado this year, but its still up and away the best camp. There isn't a single bad lab to be put in there and you should have fun and learn a lot.

Apps are due May 1st, so you have to move quickly, like fed ex.

VBI and NDF (national debate forum, just google that) are also good, with the preference probably falling with VBI. You would have more fun at vbi and socal weather is great. However, NDF is in Boston (Emerson College), so if locality is most important, go for that.

not to hate on chemistry1947, but snfi has not been so good in recent years (although it has DMeyers, maybe prashant, and Brugato, it isn't worth the trip if vbi is an option). I would prefer any of the other three to it

IOWA IS TERRIBLE. Like I can't emphasize that one enough. If you want to have a good time and learn anything at all, DO NOT GO TO IOWA (univ. of iowa). The staff is pretty bad, it has paul bellus himself (a crazy, ranting, self-important ogre who, despite audacious claims to the contrary, falls hopelessly short of knowing anything about contemporary national circuit debate [or anything else for that matter]). Please do not give those people your money.

Thanks for the feedback. It was very helpful. I didn't know about NSD in Colorado. I overnighted application to them.
