Debate class and team, or debate team and Study Hall

I have the option to take debate and the class or debate and study hall
I feel like a study hall would be nice but if the class is a big deal ill take it.
What do colleges care about the class (personally i think it just sounds like an easy A) or the team (personally I look forawrd to the team)?

take study hall in 12 grade because you will need it so you can have time to apply for college.

I don’t think it matters either way. It sounds like you just want to be part of the team more than in the class, so do that. I’ve had a free period and it’s way more productive than any class I could have taken. The free period will be useful for studying, making up assignments when you are absent, getting outside help, sleeping, meeting with your guidance counselor, etc.

Taking the class will be more impressive than study hall. But if you think study hall will help with getting good grades and applying to college then that may be the smart choice. If you can’t do the debate class and all the work you would get done in study hall then do the study class.

What grade are you in?
What other classes are you taking?
What colleges are you aiming for?

Damn guys, thanks for the response 3 years later lol

Gotta love College Confidential.

What I don’t understand is how people manage to go back 3 years of posts.

Easy peasy. New poster searches topic that interests them. Search function doesn’t always bring up most recent threads. Poster doesn’t look at date. Comments. Post appears in Latest Posts since someone commented. Others comment, not noticing date because who would check something that showed up in Latest Posts.

So did you take the study hall ? A cliffhanger, for sure. @guy1234

Ah, I’d never thought about step 1: search CC. Enlightening.

First off, let me say that I was an 8th grader when I asked this, so thats why its, admittedly, a pretty stupid question.
@CheddarcheeseMN this is what happened: I had found out later that the class fufills a fine arts requirement, so I found it to be in my best interest to take the class and join the team, and I have since done very well at Speech and Debate. I’m ranked top 5 in the state and top 50 in the country. So I guess I made the right choice. However, in all honesty, I dont think it mattered either way, I was just an overzealous middle schooler neadlessly stressing about high school
