I'm leaving a larger university and debating between transferring to either Lehigh or Lafayette. My concerns are I want to be a business major and i know the only one offered is Business and Economics? Is that a problem once i want to find a job? Is the major well rounded for business? Also i hear that greek life and the social scene has been have some troubles lately? Also any little secrets about the school i wouldnt find somewhere else? Thanks!

Econ & Business in the major but you can focus on any number of concentratiosn to fit your need. Once you take the core classes you can take classes in finance, marketing, accounting, economic theory, econometrics or a combination of all. You dont have to pigeon hole yourself as one or the other right off the bat, you get a chance to determine what is most interesting and beneficial. What job do you aspire to?

Also to answer your questions of cousre it is well rounded. Lafayette is a Liberal Arts school at its core so you will get the chance to study different subjects and learn and understand seperate POV.

I am a Lafayette alum and Econ major, and my son is an Econ major. It’s in my blood to love Lafayette and hate Lehigh. But if you truly want to major in business, go to Lehigh. Their business dept is very well respected. Lafayette does not have a true business dept, only Economics. There are some classes in accounting, finance, etc, but it’s not a true business major.

I understand that Greek life looms larger at Lehigh than Lafayette. My son is in a frat at Lafayette, but only about 30% of the males go Greek there. The feeling among the frats is that the current administration is not fond of the frat system. I can’t speak to whether that feeling is accurate or not.
