As an up and coming junior student in my high school, I just wanted to figure out whether taking AP US History this year is worthwhile. However, I felt that it may be too much of a burden with all of the other subjects that I am taking this year and perhaps I could direct my attention towards them. This year I am to take: AP Calculus AB, AP Biology, AP Chemistry, Physics, Biotech/Anatomy & Physiology Honors, and English Honors. As a sophomore I managed to maintain a 4.2 GPA and took U.S. History Honors. I participate in an extra-curricular program in my school that centers around the math and science field, hence I am interested in having a medical profession in the future. I wonder if the jump from an honors class to a regular US History 2 class will not hinder my chances with certain colleges, who will look down upon my choice of taking the easy way out. But the truth is I don't really feel like the APUSH course will intrigue me as much as the other courses. I am also looking forward to taking the SAT subject test for Chemistry and Biology. Hence, should I drop the class for a regular History class? Half of the students in my academy class are taking APUSH as well, so I don't wish for colleges to overlook my transcript in the future. Thank you in advance!

As long as you’re taking a history class, with the rigor of the rest of your courses, it won’t make a difference.
