Debutantes

Hey
I am a four generation debutante (even though it is not really me, but fun any way lots of great philanthropy). Big white goen and everything I was just wondering if other people are. what people's preceptions of debutantes are? Does it happen where you are from? ect...

None where I live, heh…

Do you have to go to those pompous parties and such all the time?

You mean the uber rich?

no thats the thing
here its tottaly normal. like everyone is a debutante, but once you go even 15 miles away no is.
most of what we do is charity and not pompus parties
to even be considered to be presented you have to have done at least 500 hours of community service. its just tradition in my family, but not exactly my thing.

not the service part the big fluffy dress and waltzing isnt my thing
i agreed beacuse of the service aspect (i realize that could be misconstured)

Where the crap do you live?

I would imagine she lives in the 1920s.

How much coke do you do?

i live in southern california
i dont do coke. any
and yeah its a really old tradition, but like maybe 1/3 of my friends “get debed”

“i dont do coke. any”

disgrace to your kind, lol

my kind
yeah sorry i am no celebutant, just a nice happy young lady in a huge white dress

socal…I should’ve known

yeah i fit all the stereotypes
i surf, i do yoga, i eat organic food
most amazing place to live

anyway the main point of this thread was is this: where i live being a deb is somthing to be proud of. it is a sign that you’re committed to your community and philanthropy and honoring your family. As hard as it is to believe, its not a look im richer than you kinda thing. i promise! (the ball is a fundrasier for the local hospital) but i realize it comes off that way to everyone else.
should avoid it with colleges?
