Can it hurt you to apply for scholarship consideration? I don't see myself as a super competitive applicant for scholarships but i think i might get lucky RD. so would i be at a disadvantage by applying dec 1?

All applicants are considered RD. It can only help to apply by tomorrow so definitively do it.

If your essays aren’t ready though and u have to rush them wait to submit. Don’t submit mediocre essays. Also if u are waiting for scores, those can be submitted after the deadline along with transcripts but get them in as soon as possible.

There is no EA for USC. All applicants are RD as @Avery87 said. Even if you think you might not be eligible for a scholarship, it won’t hurt you to try. You might be surprised with what you get. Go for it.

Thanks guys, i will apply dec 1 and try my luck ! Is the absolute deadline 11:59pm tomorrow ? Want to budget my time well to edit my essays to perfection! :p

Yeah it’s Dec 1 at 11:59. I’ve only done one of my four supplemental essays so far… oops

Good luck. One good thing about applying by December 1 is even if you aren’t considered for a merit scholarship, your application is being read before the onslaught makes the pile huge for the January deadline. Better to be reviewed and scored when people are fresh, then when they are exhausted and facing tens of thousands of new applications pouring in that they need to weed down. Also, students who apply earlier tend to be viewed at many colleges as the most motivated. IMHO.

Yeah i had a similar thought process thanks! I have one more essay to go then i’m done
