<p>I’m really scared of having some stark “accept,” (knock on wood) “defer,” or “reject” stare me in the face. </p>
<p>Or is it like a copy of the letter with a confetti presentation if you get in?</p>
<p>Is this official? Where did you hear December 12th?</p>
<p>I'd really like to know myself how the letter looks!!!</p>

<p>it was dec 12 last year, but i haven't heard anything about this year yet, except where it says "mid-dec" on the website.</p>

<p>well part of the application status page says decision: and then blank. Im assuming there will be a stark accep, reject or defer, as disheartening as that may be.</p>
<p>From my recollection from last year (my Son was ED), you put in your password and the formal acceptance, deferral or rejection letter comes up. It is signed by James Miller, the Dean of Admissions. A week or two later you get the official letter in the mail as well.</p>
<p>well, dec 12 was a monday last year, but it's a tues this year. decisions usually go online on mondays for brown, doesn't it?</p>

<p>An admissions representative from Brown gave a presentation in Colorado about a month and a half ago and she definitely stated decisions would be released December 15th...although I'd love for it to be the 12th...for obvious reasons.</p>
<p>Guess we'll have to wait and see!</p>

<p>If it is the 12th, that will be a big day for brown students and prospective brown students alike... our first day of finals :-</p>
<p>it is? brown's finals are rather early. don't semesters end in january for most school?</p>
<p>no, most fall semesters by mid-december. i only know of harvard's that ends in january - they have a christmas break and then come back in early jan to take finals.</p>
