Dec 2012 - Math II Discussion

Hey guys,

Discuss. I thought it was easier than expected, except some questions threw me off guard, like the second to last with the graphs and derivative. Otherwise, I think I did well. The one with the quartiles was awkward also. Overall, missed 1 so far, omitted none. Hbu?

yea some of the last questions were relatively difficult…
so if I omitted 7 and get everything else right, would I still get 800?

Omitted 6, had 1 wrong
Hope for a 800 also
It was a lot easier than the math level 1 test

Killerskullz, do you remember any more details about “the second to last with the graphs and derivative?” I don’t remember any questions that had derivatives…

Wasn’t it the question with a graph, 2 functions and something with an “a” value ?
I omitted that one

Ohhhh yea, that one I do remember. I think I put something like f(x+a)-f(x)>G(x+a)-g(x) was incorrect? hmm I don’t think that question has anything with derivatives though but I may have read it wrong…

^^ that was essentially comparing the slopes (derivative) of each graph. and yes, E was the answer. what did you guys get for the plane M and Circle C and radius = 6, then goes to 12 or something. I got area = 169.something… i think that was C

It wasn’t derivatives, just the difference quotient, designed to throw off kids taking Calc. Misaya Jones I go that too.

What did you guys get for the question where there were three x and y tables and it asked which of these are functions? Was it all three?

also for the one with the quartiles and the range, whatever it was, did you get 31%?

II and III were fxn’s, so answer was D

idk it was kind of similar to derivative except w/o /(x-a).

I got II and III only for that question with x’s and y’s asking y as a function of x or something.

On that one with the plane M and point C, I think I got 339 or something as the area, but I remember that the answer choice was C. I got the radius of the circle on the plane M as sqrt(108). Do you remember what you got?

yes, I got sqrt(108) also, but then you have to divide it by 2, because its a semicircle. right…?

I also got 31% for the IQR question.

Now that you mention it, I’m not too sure… Why do you think that it would be a semicircle and not a full circle?

Yeah I don’t think it’s a semicircle

How about the distance between the 2 building questions? I wasn’t sure if it mean the distance between the bottom of the two buildings or the top aka hypotenuse

Does anyone remember what theygot for number 50?
I got e

I’m pretty sure it meant distance between the bottom of the two buildings. I got 340-something for that.
