Dec 2012 - Math II Discussion

I’m pretty sure it said the distance between the two buildings from the ground? I got 381 and if it was that distance that was be asked for, tan40=320/381.

I ended up finding distance between bottom and i got 381 ft i think

distance = 320/tan40

Was the answer for the question involving 300000 and logn/log something 19?

Yeah, it was 381. I remembered wrong.

Do you remember what question 50 was? I don’t remember what I put for my answer choice.

how about the population of doves?

I remember getting 15 for that question with log n/ log 2 when n was 30,000.

For the population of doves, I got that the population was highest in January of every odd-numbered year.

I must say the collegeboard review book is very misleading

^^ that is correct. and 300000 log 2 was 19. heres my interpretation of the circle C plane M question. [circle - Slimber.com: Drawing and Painting Online](http://slimber.com/index.php?image=circle.g271100)

Wasn’t it 300,000 and not 30,000

Oh okay thankss

Ah, I see what you did with that plane question. I think the problem with your interpretation is that a plane by definition extends infinitely in all directions, so the point C would have to be above the plane and not to the side of it. Like, if the plane of M was the plane (x,y,0), the point would have to be something like (0,0,6) rather than (6,0,0). If my interpretation was correct, it would be a full circle instead and not a semicircle.

Oh… was it 300,000? D:

Misaya, youre correct. My bad, I just totally blanked out and freaked on you guys. Lol… and yes, it was log 300000 / log 2 = 18.5 rounds to 19

@killerskullz, i just plugged it into my calculator, it gives you 18.2

but since it was asking for the least greatest integer your answer still is 19 I’m guessing.

For the question about 4 digit numbers where 3 always follows 2, it was 6 right?

Andhow about the q with (x^2 - y^2) =1 and some more info i can’t remember?

Impreviouss I also got 6 for that one.

For the one about (x^2 - y^2) =1 I don’t remember the letter but I think it was something like (x+y) less than -1

franco i got less than one, i think that was letter choice A.
