....sorry, my mistake

ali_liu: for moon, i put the person will weigh 6 times less on the moon - could sb explain y this is wrong?

actually the options said mass would be 6 times less, not weight... mass doesnt change

Yeah I'm pretty sure it asked for the mass which obviously would be the same as on earth.

To get the weight, you would have to know the mass and radius of the moon since Fg = Gmm'/r^2. I don't recall using the mass and radius of the moon for any question so it probably was asking for mass and not weight.

The answer was that an object would travel 6 times as high on the moon. The crappy part is that i was in the process of figuring that out when the bell rang, so I didn't get to put it.

i can't believe it...i got another wrong, what's the score for:

5 wrong, 2 omit?

8 wrong, 2 omit?

thx guyz~

Ali_liu

I'm pretty sure both of those translate into an 800, with the second being on the border.

Yes, you can get up to 10 wrong and still have an 800 (following the Real curve).

I seem to remember one with eyeglasses. But now I'm not sure whether I took it on a practice test or it was on the real test. Anyways, eyeglasses work on the basis of refraction.

Does Sparknotes have a realistic curve table? A 66 is the cut-off score for an 800, but everyone seems to say it's lower.

December SAT I/II chatroom: dec3sat

From 1-5 AM EST and beyond. Good luck, everyone!

YES!!!!1111shift1 790 and I left 7 questions blank!

730, left 10 blank, didn't study this time (took conceptual physics BLAH in 9th grade). I didn't even care this time because it was feewaivered; I just wanted the 4 free score reports. Maybe if I focused on the test, I would have gotten more than 50 pts improvement. But I'm pretty happy; I finally have all 700's.

I got a 730 in Physics as well. Is that a good score? Do you know any websites where I can see the average scores for SAT Subject Tests at different schools?

800.........

but i already got into cornell ED........

anybody want my score?

evanescenteuphoria, I would love to have your score... to up my defer from MIT.

Lightheaded, I've never seen a site with the average SAT II scores from each school. Also, 700+ is very good. There's a reason why physics has a generous curve, because it's supposed to be harder than a lot of other tests. Why is the percentages so low then? Even though it's a hard test, maybe because not many people want to take the chance of taking a hard test, so people that actually know the material only take the test.

i want evanescenteuphoria's 800!

I got 800. :)
Still can't believe it. Maybe CollegeBoard messed something up? Hehe.

Damn I feel bad now. lol I'm the type of person that has to always get the highest score. Why couldn't they just give me that extra 10 points? =(

I also got 800 somehow, I think. I must have been exactly on the cut-off score.
When I log into My SAT, it says to come back next saturday to check for scores, but then I went to Send Scores to Colleges, where I saw my 800.
Has anybody had that happen to them before?
