Dec 3 Sat Ii Italian

yeah i been there- its sooo pretty!
i cant wait till i get my scores, since i really dont know what to expect and i dont know anyone whos taken italian!

December SAT I/II chatroom: dec3sat

From 1-5 AM and beyond. Good luck, everyone!

I heard George Clooney has a villa up there in Como

lol yes he does. my friend says she saw him while she was there, not that i can completely trust her.

Don't trust her! She's probably lying! Only millionaires hang around Como! :) Where is your high school, anyway? Hardly any schools these days give Italian. It's so rare. What a shame! I'm in Florida. Imagine: learning Italian in S. Fla. where everyone speaks Spanish!

I really don't see why I would lie about living in Como. I am FAR from a millionaire. My parents and I lived in Lora, a suburb of Como, in a very small apartament from 92-98. I have never even seen the large mansions by the lake.

How did everyone do on the test?
Anyone want to share their scores?

--Tara

No, not you tara! I meant fromwhence.'s friend! Accidenti!

And I was just kidding! Coudn't you tell by the smiley face! :) <------Does this look like a serious face? Huh? Huh?

Boo........ya!

tutte bugie! hahahahaahaha, anyways, my school is a little bit north of san francisco. in the county i think theres 2 high schools that teach italian, and we used to have japanese, but sadly there werent enough people to take it and it died. :(

i got a 730, and i guess im happy with getting over 700... but im still not sure how good that really is, mostly because on cc theres 800s all over the place (mostly in math and science). but i really have no basis for comparison for the italian sat2!

Congratulazioni fromwhenceyoucame! 730 is fantastic. In many universities, getting anything above a 600 will get you some sort of college credit. How did everyone else do?

Okay, here's the deal. My class is doing prepositions right now (both simple and articulated) and we are so confused when to use what! We get the general rules, but there are so many exceptions, expressions, etc.

We're using Ponti right now and we did some exercises on prepositions and b/c (for some weird reason) the book doesn't have a teacher's edition, we are debating on some questions....

Can you guys help me?

This paragraph doesn't have any choices, and this was very confusing for the class. You still use either simple or articulated prepositions:

If you don't mind, like, give some reasons as to why that preposition goes there and stuff... anyway, any help will be appreciated! Grazie!

The Italian subject test has the worst curve out of all of them. Miss one and say bye to the 800. No other subject test is that harsh.

is any1 going to help me....

Sorry but I don't know Italian.

i would say...
1. per
2. a (in spoken italian "ad" so it doesnt sound so awful), negli

reasons? the italians decided to say it that way.... you hear it enough times and it sounds good. that paragraph REALLY is a ***** though.
