I just took to see what I get and man science part killed me.. reading was easier than SAT's but man oh well.. DISCUSS!

Im back and I took the writing.

The Reading is all I'm worried about. I think this is going to be a new high score for me. That reading was tough!

Hi, how does viewing of ACT scores work? Is the only free way you can view your scores is wait until it gets mailed?

Yeah, that's the only free way.
I registered for the Dec ACT, but I was pleased with my Oct scores, so I decided not to take the test today.

How does the curve usually look on the ACT Science?

Kinda Fed that one up

the science curve is brutal. 4-5 wrong to get above a 30.

it was overal a hard act.. science and math were pretty tough so was reading..lol and so was english

Ran out of time for Sci...started bubbling randomly lol

I know that colleges take the test that best represents your application if you submit both ACT and SAT, but a few questions...1) Does getting a high SAT, but a low ACT in anyway "psychologically" affect what the adcom thinks? 2) If the colleges take the ACT as your best test, how do they view the individual sections? and how do those affect your chances? (such as what if one of your science II's is high, but the sci section on ACT is low, but your overall ACT score is high)....sorry if the questions are convoluted

I messed up big time.

sci was hard. I am in ap bio and I dont even get what the hell they were talking about in that allele problem

science isnt suppose to test knowledge, but logic and comprehension.

oh my gosh...im in ap bio too and *** was going on wit that allele problem? the test wasnt that bad compared to past ACT's and i thought the reading was really good but there were a few ambigous things on the writing section....i thought that the SA was funny because it was essentially about teh importance of the ACT but i majorly ran out of time on that so i just hope that i didnt mess up my SA that badly but overall, i thought it was a good test...im a junior and is this the last test that seniors will be taking??

mkevb, tru science is not suppose to test knowledge but if u know shtloads about alleles then you should be able to easily understand the allele crap but even though i am bitter about how my vast knowledge of science does not help me on the science section, it is good because then everyone is on an even playing field with the science section...does anybody have any good tips on how to improve a science score? im really good at science in school yet i keep messing up the ACT with a 28 on the science section, its my lowest score and if i can get it up to par wit my other scores then i can stop taking the stupid test...tips CCers?

yea i really suck at the science section too and im in ap bio, but mostly, for me, its a time problem. Generally, the tip for ACT science if you run out of time is just read the question first then look at the info.

You could get PhDs in science, mathematics, literature, and writing. This would surely help you on your ACTs and SATs.

say that u want to go to a pre-med program and would want to major in biochemistry...and u have 5s on AP bio and AP chem....is it vital to get a high score in the science section? the science section is suppose to be reasoning and not your knowledge of science but still...and if so then what is a top score on the science ACT section that looks good and on par with the students that they accept to top schools and top med programs?

ahhahahaha, science PWNED me, omg that was so hard, i needed atleast another 10 minutes to finish in time.

sorry, repost

I'm ****ed that top schools don't combine ACT sections.
