Come on, guys... is there any rule that says they can't use old SATs? The whole international incident was unfortunate, but those scores will be canceled, I trust. Is there really anything we can do about it?

I suppose the test-takers this time around are inconveniently sharp. Who knows, this may have happened before and nobody noticed it.

it's not the against the rule to administer old tests. kids who took it in dec could have ordered question and answer and service. They could have had the answers to this test. Now that's againist the rule since SAT's are supposed to be "Standardized"

ajk, if we DON'T do anything, then who's to say that the international's scores WILL be canceled?

I don't know what we kind of a change we can make, if any, but at least we would have tried something, and told collegeboard that we don't approve of them doing something like this completely out of the blue.

I think that they MUST cancel all of the scores since some people have already seen the test because the scores are not valid. If some kids have seen the test, how will coleges know whether a student genuinely scored a 2350+ or if they just saw the old test. ALso it is possible for a junior to have taken the Dec 2005 exam and then retake the January 2007 as a senior. Im also nervous that because so many people have seen it the scores are going to be abnormaly high and collegeboard is going to change the curve which would be unfoair to people who didnt see the test.

I'm sure something will happen now. There's no way this will go ignored. Someone in the press will get their hands on this, atleast by the times the scores are released or soemthing...

chinnu - I've finally wrapped my mind around the complexity of this problem. I hadn't realized your point about the December people having the answers to this test.

I guess you guys are right. I'm steaming now.

chillin, I've e-mailed CNN, and you guys should e-mail too, to other news stations that you guys know will be interested. Someone's gotta take action, and IMHO, I think this is pretty juicy news.

maybe that's how testmasters predicts what vocab will be in the jan. test. i heard people say that some of the words in this sat were in their wordlist

quite frankly, I'm not surprised. I took a make-up SAT on October 28, 2006 when my center closed for the normal october date and it was the exact same test as I took in Nov 2005.

Can someone explain this clearly please? I don't full understand what happened. Did the people in other countries have who took yesterday's test have the same one that was given in December 2005 in America? Or was the test that I took yesterday in America given elsewhere? I'm confused as to what exactly happened.
