lets discuss the exam once the embargo is over here=) Although, given my feelings about the exam, it's more like a =(

I'm taking it, but I'm not too good in French. I've been getting around 600 on all my practice tests =(... and who's to say the actual test isn't harder than REA... so I might get lower, lol.

i finished the test 3hrs ago!

yeh i did REA's practise tests as well...the real ones were a bit different though...

how was yours? i used PR- the only one available....but i think this one was somewhat easier than that in the "real subject tests", and very similar to those in PR...

hey Jrock, how did you find it? I just took the SAT reasoning. I'd be interested to know how you guys all did in the french, once scores become available. I hope you went well! :)

how was your Reasoning Test? hope it was great......wow, the French was cool - found out that i made two slips in the vocabulary part....but apart from that, the comprehension passages were very very straightfoward. they were lovely :) thx (i'd been seriously reading boring, incomprehensible passage lol, thx again for the advice, really helped, really looking forward to the 15th? when we'll see the scores...

I felt the reasoning test went okay, it seemed pretty straightforward as in I could either do a question or I absolutely couldn't, and there weren't all that many in the latter category :) so here's hoping...

I'm glad to hear the french went okay for you - and two slips are not that serious, if that's all you did wrong your score will be brilliant! I'll hope for you too...:)

wot? you found the frenchnpassages straightforward? i found a couple of them really hard...and the verb constructions +vocab quite hard oin them dammit...a nd i seriousyl had no idea to lots ofvocab

i finished the french 20 min early... wasn't too bad except for the passage where you had to fill in the words.

great! wish you the best for the 19th! -great scores!!. i'm there are more i may never discover, but i'm hoping all the same, lol, thx:)

jay01, i wouldn't say that the passages were easy, in fact, one was tough. sure, i didn't know all the words i came across. but IMHO, i think they were quite straightfoward...cos i discovered you could answer most of the questions without actually reading the passages top to bottom [tho i didn't do that], and the main strategy was to watch out for deception; answers that look correct, but are actually opposite in sense....it was more like a game of watching out for traps. but i hope you found the test generally cool, tho.

agree, crimson4me. actually the first fill-in-the-gap passage was harder than the second.....i left it first, and then went back to it....and thankfully, i got the whole sense of the passage.

all the best everyone. when can we begin to discuss the actual questions on the test?

hey jrock, just wondering, did you take the SATs in harare?

i moved here in august....and yeah, took the Oct SAT, Nov SATII, and now french, all here in harare....

cool... we're sort of neighbors, i took mine in jo'burg.

gr8! how's jo'burg? what are you hoping to get in this French test?

I thought the French was extremely difficult. There were tons of words that I'd never seen before, and I'm in my fourth year of French. It seems like this test is meant for people that are fluent in the language.

i don't think so, tweeeek. i'm not a fluent speaker...how did you find the grammar/vocab sections?

The grammar sections were easy, the only one I was unsure of was the one that said "Une tasse ___ th

tasse de the is correct...

i got wrong the questions: "_____ ma douleur", which is supposed to be "soulager" [chose "ameliorer], and "certificats de naissance? a ____" which should be "la douane" [guessed wrongly - "la mairie"]

those sections were okay...how were the comprehension passages? as well as the fill-the-gap passages?
