<p>This is probably not the right place to post this-- but what do colleges think of students in DECA? I am not doing it just for a resume filler, I am genuinely interested in learning about business. In my school, you are automatically enrolled in the program by taking the marketing class. But you can participate in DECA (obviously), and go on a trip to Detroit, and stuff like that. I plan on doing that, so what would colleges think of that? Specifically UChicago, I understand that they have a great economics program.</p>

<p>I wasn’t aware that participation in DECA was frowned upon. But if you’re truly considered how your involvement would be perceived, you could supplement being a member of DECA with other business clubs/opportunities/internships (ie. show a genuine interest for business), which would validate your interest.</p>
