What is DECA? I know its a business/investment oriented club. Visited the website but I dont see what are the benefits of joining DECA as opposed to just having a regular "investment club"? How is it different from "Future Business Leaders of America" for that matter?

What do the high school chapters of DECA do? What are the regular activities?

Thanks

I quit DECA after I relized eveyone there eanted to get associates degrees in business from the local community college.

^ Yeah, I know what you mean.

DECA is a bussiness club association thing, but is really more of a marketing club. Basically, most of the kids in it seem to be on the fast track to filling jobs like on the show The Office.

That said, a lot of people take it really seriously.

Was anyone else at nationals this year in Dallas?

MODEL UN is sweeeeeet. this is completely unrelated but it is a club.

How is it different from "Future Business Leaders of America"????
Which is better?

I am unfamiliar with future bussiness leaders of America, but DECA is a marketting organization with clubs at high schools in every state and some in canada. There are state competitions in various events, such as writing a paper founding a bussiness or something, or competiting in events (like what i did) where a few from each state qualify for nationals held every year somewhere around the country where people compete for national titles and stuff.

Does anyone know how DECA is perceived by colleges? I am a little worried some might be turned off by it. Should i even bother putting national finalist in DECA for my event on my apps....

eh whatever.
