Hello!
I’m really concerned about my USC application. I did submit everything in the common app by the December 1 deadline for financial aid consideration. However, I haven’t received any special notification that I’m being considered for financial aid.
What I’m worried about is whether I’m still being considered for financial aid, since I sent my November SAT score (1570) on November 29 (pretty late, I know, but I needed to know my score and whether to send it).
Do you think I might still be eligible? I would greatly appreciate your advice.
I’m also still going to fill out the CSS profile before February 14.
Thanks!
Sorry to double post, but I forgot to add: the USC portal doesn’t show anything in the apply for financial aid section. Does this mean I’m not being considered?
December 1st is for merit aid which is scholarships, FAFSA and CSS is for financial aid which is not merit. Two different things. You are fine.
@blueskies2day Thank you–and just to clarify, you think that the 11/29 SAT score send will not rule me out for Merit Aid specifically?
It really should be fine, is it marked received on you.usc.edu? You can call admissions (maybe closed tomorrow, idk) to be sure. But typically if your part is in, you are good. Things like recs and test scores can be later, just don’t know how long it took college board to get your test score to them. But I really believe it isn’t a problem, just thinking if you heard it from them you would feel better.
I think I will try calling them. Thanks for the advice!
And on the you.usc portal it shows “Official SAT or ACT Score Report” under Received Documents.
HOWEVER, when I click on the orange info bubble next to that line, it says they’ve received an unofficial score report, and to send an official one. Weird since that box literally is called “official SAT or ACT” :P.
