Why does Princeton recommend submitting applications by December 15th?

Because they don’t have an early option, they get a ton of applications all at once for the same period of time… So they start reading the applications they already have a little before the actual deadline (kinda like how Harvard wanted people to try and send in stuff before December 1). I don’t think it hurts you to submit after the 15th but if you already have the app done you might as well send it and do an admissions officer a favor I guess

Yeah they just want to spread out when they receive the applications so that they don’t get them all on January 1. I don’t believe it has any direct effect on admissions, but it might improve your chance of getting an interview
