<p>Could someone explain the difference between the two 'deadlines'? </p>

<p>I was just looking through some Harvard supplemental material they sent me, and it seems as though they wanted the main common app in by Dec 1st.</p>

<p>Is this true? Am I screwed? Or can I submit both the commonapp and the supplement by January 1st?</p>

<p>you can submit both by january 1st. that’s the real deadline. they just suggested getting it in earlier because they have soooo many apps to read so they like to get started as soon as possible. they also read them in the order in which they are submitted, but they say that doesn’t hurt/help your chance of getting in.</p>
