First ACT. I’ll probably get up at like 7 on the day of: check to see if my score’s up. If not, go to bed. If so, either: scream, cry, or just be like: ok. I’d really like a 30 composite and 30 on English so I could get a solid scholarship at Purdue.

lol not early at all. this is my first act. id flip out if i got a 34, but 33 is probably more likely. ill definitely retake it unless i get a 34

5 times!? You must know it through and through Have you had a steady increase?

I took if for the first time in October to see if I could do better on it than the SAT, and my 31 converted matches my SAT, so I thought I’d give it one last shot.

I have a question about scores. My son took the ACT for the first time yesterday, with the writing test. Since the writing test takes longer to score, will he have to wait 5 weeks for all his scores, or will the composite score be available earlier? He really has no idea what score to expect, like so many others he ran out of time on science.

The composite will appear online on the 28th. The spot for the writing + english score will be empty and it’ll tell you to check back in 1 to 2 weeks.

So he’ll have his composite on the 28th. :)

I got a 21 composite my 1st time, 22 composite my 2nd time. I retook the ACT’s for the 3rd time yesterday, and I can’t even say I did better (even though I believe I did).

1st attempt - The test was given at my school for free, went in with no knowledge of how the test works. I had to guess on a row from writing, english, and science (only completely finished math. Got a 21 composite (English 18, Math 25, Reading 18, Science 21 - OUCH)

2nd attempt - I now knew what to expect. I only studied the night before (took a portion of the practice test. I felt that I did much better this time, and I get my results back, a 22 composite! (English 21, Math 24, Reading 20, Science 24)

3rd attempt - Of course, I haven’t seen the results yet, but I didn’t feel as confident coming out this time as I did the last time. I was hoping for at least a 28, as I’m trying to get accepted into DePaul’s honors college, but that looks like a long shot right now. I will probably have to take the test again in February :(

Hoping for a 36. Would be happy with a 34 or above. This is my first, but I had two straight 35s on practice tests. I came out of these feeling worse than I had on the practice tests, but after reading everyone’s answers to different questions, I haven’t seen one that I got wrong yet, including the one I guessed blindly on 8-)

^Lol. I got really excited when 2 I saw that two I had guessed on in the Science section were correct. Hopefully the other 20 (as it seems) I guessed on were also correct. :P

Yeah I’m hoping for at least a 32/33. I don’t think it’s realistic, with the studying I did, to get much higher. And I can’t even stress too much about this, I have to study for the SATs now! ugh it never ends…

Do scores come out on the 28th for ACT + Writing too?
Yeah, this was my first time - only did about three weeks of prep, hoping for a 34+ composite, a 35 would be AMAZING though! Science was rough, but who knows …

Haha, this was my first time taking it, and I studied 3 days before hand. I would like a 33 or above, but I am not sure how logical that really is. Ugh, but I need something to replace my 2120 SATs. :P

heyy guys. i was just wondering, for “Your test dates and Scores” does your December 12th ACT still say registered? or does it say tested? I hope my scores come in time for regular decision.! ):

Usually it will say registered until just before the scores are released. I remember last time mine didn’t say tested until the day before. So odds are, it’ll just take a little time.

EDIT: P.S. Mine still says registered too ;)

I am super nervous/excited. I am pretty confident about Science and English. I think I did great, like 35-36 (not to jinx it!!), on the reading. I am hoping for a 27-30 on math. 33 composite. lol

Ah, and this is my 2nd time around, first with writing. I took it once in 7th grade.

Did anyone else see a change in the test from a while ago? It seems longer, as in the reading passages.
