I guess I just fail at life… M: 770, Cr: 740, W: 660/ 10 Essay. 2170…gay

do any of you have ideas for me if I make small mistakes on the math section? I know how to do all the problems but get them wrong because of small errors. Any things I can do before the test or during the test?

@bluewatermelon

Congrats on your PSAT score and your NMSF status.

For me a 2340 is incredible because I got a 211 on my PSAT (still maybe the cutoff in FL) and because i just never expected this. I am afraid if I take it again, trying to raise my CR, I will go down in the other two, which would look bad for colleges. For you, where 2400 is in grasp, I admire your determination to get a 2400. I am content with my score because my brother got into half the schools in the Ivy League and others (perfect 10/10) with much lower scores.

Avoiding small mistakes is all about timing. I go through and answer all the questions very quickly (in less than half the time allotted); I mark questions in which I think I might have made a mistake.

I first go through and review all the marked questions (spending as much time as I need to make sure I didn’t make a mistake). I then check my remaning time and divide that by the total number of unchecked questions I have left. I then spend this much time on each question (no more unless I actually find a mistake).

It’s very reliable: I got 790 freshman year, 80 on Form W of this year’s PSAT, and four 800’s on Blue Book practice tests.

This was my second test…

CR 630 (Same as last time. I thought it was pretty difficult…)
M 670 (I thought I’d at LEAST break 700 D: Did -10 from last test)
W 620 (Same as last time, but went from a 6 to a 7 essay…)

1920

So basically, all I did was go down 10 points, because of Math, which I thought was my best and would atleast get over 700. I thought wrong. |:

I was hoping to at least break 2000 this time.

Ahh, I think I’m going to take it again in January?
But my online course still lasts until March 9…
And I want to take it in March. Maybe I’ll have to take both =A=;

If I got the following scores on Dec SAT:
CR- 680
Math- 680
Writing- 800

Should I try the ACT before taking the SAT again (mostly to fix up math)? Or should I focus on the SAT completely first and then turn my attention to the ACT?

Do colleges only care about the highest score sent or do they factor in other scores even though they are slightly lower?

When (if ever) does CB release the curves for this test?

I got a 2270, 770 CR, 700 M, and 800 W (12 essay) I am pretty happy for this being my first time. I have to retake to get that math score up but otherwise i am good to go.

Will colleges have a negative view if i retake and do worse in the other two sections but do better in math, i know that that 800 in writing is probably a one time deal.

Do MIT, UPenn, and Yale, superscore the SAT or just look at the one best sitting.

aw, I remember stressing over the SATs last year
blegh, it sucked.

@wikiman: Yale requires you to send in ALL your SAT scores or ALL your ACT scores, and I believe they look at the highest set of scores. so I think they do superscore…idk about MIT and Upenn.

and, after going through the college admissions process as a senior- SAT scores are just a gateway issue, guys
if you have an acceptable score, then they move on to look at the rest of your app - ECs, recs, essays, etc. those are the things that will get you into the schools you want, NOT a 2400. :)

Now this is very strange…

I’ve been trying a million different things to see my Writing MC subscore and essay score that everyone says is on their score report. I’ve refreshed, gotten to the scores via different routes, etc…and still nothing but my three main scores.

I just called CB and the person’s response was that no one should be able to see their MC subscore or essay score yet???

click on the link under the megaphone and you can see your essay score and MC score

https://viewscore.collegeboard.com/viewscore/myscores.jsp

^ Yeah, all you had to do was go to your organizer and it’d have a big megaphone thingy for you to click.

anyone know if Upenn and MIT superscore or not.

^ Higher Education Professionals | College Board;

Thanks for everyone’s help, but still nothing but my three main scores out of 800. No Writing section breakdown and no percentiles.
The megaphone thing isnt a link and next to it says “Check back in 7-10 days for your December SAT scores”
And there isnt a link underneath the megaphone.

First timer here.

800 CR
740 W (6 essay, 80 mc)
730 M

=2270.

I have no idea how I scored so low on my essay, seeing as writing is my strongest subject. My math score was quite an unpleasant surprise as well. Retaking!

I’m not sure whether I should laugh or cry. I received a 2020, and while I was hoping for 2100, I got pwned in CR this time so it was not so. I also missed a question in math I’m pretty sure because I accidentally filled in the wrong bubble, and in the midst of erasing it, the proctor called time up.
I’ve seen people on here with scores 2100 and up who are saying “■■■”. Like I said before, I’m not sure if I should laugh at how pathetic they are, or cry because of my supposedly “average” score.

63 CR (Angry, usually CR is around 70)
71 Math (Annoyed, due to reason I stated above)
68 Writing (70 composite, 8 essay. Can’t complain. I am a decent writer, but the prompt just didn’t do it for me; I figured that I would receive an 8).

First time, I’m a junior. And at my school, very few (less than 10) get a score over 2000. And I go to a school without about 1500 people, relatively competitive.

what was the curve?!

yoo is this bad 380 M 320 R 58 W hah i b so good at writing tho
