December 2009 World History Test

^ i put alternative. there was a question about animal and plant domestication, any1 remember the answer?

the author is Dickens… i looked it up

^the emperor has to obey the subjects the same way according to barrons AP book. it goes under Confucian and Christian way of “treat others the way you want to be treated”

@collegebound41
wasn’t answer like
increase in food, thus increase in population?

what do you mean?
what was the answer to confucius

yes, that’s what i put…
but, according to the filial piety, isn’t it like
emperor is respected by subjects?

Oh and the answer to the Homer Passage- Competition and Hospitality, right?

^1. yeah seems like what i put
2. the answer was “obey subjects the same way” if that was a choice. According to confucian principles and an overlap of christianity, there were common morals that stated treat others the way you want to be treated…in confucian terms= emperor and people both must respect each other. But the detailing of the question could throw off the answer if im missing something

^asax= yes.

Actually, the other choice was some thing along the lines of “rulers should be polite when ordering their subjects”…which is what I put, since the passage was talking about how benevolent rulers are more likely to be respected by the people (or something). And rulers’ politeness was stressed by Confucianism. I think…

Oh, another question was “which group is also known as the Mexicas?” (answer: Aztecs)

I put religious belief and military skills… because Odysseus is obviously a great soldier (?) who fought in Trojan War. And, coming back home from Troy, he had to spend more than ten years in the sea. And, he had to rely a lot on the goddess, Athene.

^ I put what kh267 did for those two.

Also- Mayan civilization was located in Mexico, Guatemala, and Honduras. (I double checked on Wikipedia)

http://www.migrationwatchuk.org/images/graphs/9_23/graph1.gif</a>

there you go. its undeveloped vs developed

^also a question about Where Mayans were located i think. idr answer tho. Yeah idr the confucian choices but it seems plausible. i think i left it blank, the word polite seems too childish for the SAT lol

^haha nice find.

@kaleidostar: But in the passage specifically, he forces someone to do like pushups or something (haha idk) and then dares someone to challenge him. Or did he do it himself? Anyways, then he comments on how the host would never dare to challenge him because that would be improper to do so. At least this is what I extrapolated :)

^ it was compeition and hospitality because he was like YO FIGHT ME, you cant because im a guest or something like that

Haha, Oedipus was trying to be all G.

Oh, In addition to the Mexicas/Aztecs question, another questio I think was about the Illiad, which had something to do with heroic tradition or something.

nvm found it on wikipedia. wow altaic meant asian lol

i can’t remember any. let try to fill up 95 guys!
