December 2009 World History Test

i put spain but in the practice book it said that netherland had the strongest navy in 1600s. so i hesitated but put spain  I JUST REMEMBERED the most traded product form china: tea (they got it for opium) and japanese cut off the trade b/c they were scared of western influence in politic and religion. that makes it…i donno like 75 questions? oh yea, and you are right on that china thing. and resent of japan was import restriction.

i think it will be hard to come up with more Qs cause easy ones are hard to remember.

number4 is serf to sammuari
vassal is to daimyo
serf/knight to sammurari

^you realize serf/=/knight, right? was knight even a choice on the test? knight=sammurai due to bushido=chivalry

im with #68. and 70 seems like a practice. although i thought there was a question on what China traded with before the 1600s/1800s or something like that.

^^Oh, great. I got the feudal Japan vs. Europe one wrong. <.<…
And…wasn’t the China question which was the most traded product TO China? I’m pretty sure it was…but hey, I could’ve complete misread the question and got that one wrong (I put opium).

the most traded product from Europeans to the Chinese is silver. That was a question on the test.

66- portugal looked for alternative routes to get in on profits.

Wiki-Portuguese sailors began exploring the coast of Africa in 1419, leveraging the latest developments in navigation, cartography and maritime technology such as the caravel, in order that they might find a sea route to the source of the lucrative spice trade.

I thought #69 was practice…but hey, I’m probably wrong. I just don’t recall it being on the test (or at least, not as literally “Which country had the greatest number of colonies by 1600?”). And the opium question sounds kind of like it could be practice too…who knows. A LOT of these less memorable ones are starting to sound like practice questions to me…

^yeah that was it.

i think we’re missing one about a Book that was italicized. did we do Song empire=gunpowder, original moveable type, etc

Oh, vassals = samurai. Thank god, got that one right.

From PR AP World:

“Below the shogun in the pecking order were the daimyo, huge landowners, or the counterparts of the lords of medieval Europe. The daimyo were powerful samurai, which were like knights. they were part warrior, part nobility. They, in turn, divided up their lands to lesser samurai (vassals), who in turn, split their land up again. Peasants and artisans worked the fields and shops to support the samurai class.”

The “(vassals)” was taken from the book, btw.

^yay. thought so

there was a question on scientists or law of gravitational something.

newton…
mannn, i have 14 wrongs alreadyyyy out of like 75

^yeah. i lose conciousness around 11 so i couldnt think lol

Yeah I’m pretty sure that the answer to most traded between Europe-China was silver. It was coveted by China since there currency was made of Silver at that time.

For the gravitations laws question, wouldn’t Newton be the right answer?

^I remember putting Newton somewhere.
