December 2010 ACT - Predicted Curves?

^ I would agree that Reading was hard, but I went through the scores thread for the October 09 ACT (which apparently was the same test as the December 10 one) and I didn’t find any 35s in Reading, leading me to believe -1= 34 in Reading.

can you post a link to that thread?

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/act-preparation/807861-october-act-scores-midnight-iowa-time-tonight-my-status-tested.html</a></p>

^ Here’s a 35: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/1063505276-post258.html</a></p>

^ For some reason, I’m inclined to believe he/she was ■■■■■■■■ as I didn’t see any other 35s apart from that one; however, I did see more than three 34s. Whatever, we’ll find out in two weeks.

Reading was extremely harsh this time. I normally suck at Reading, and it was even worse on this test.

@acttester

alot of people were discussing how the reading curve was generous

^ Their discussion doesn’t matter (to put it harshly). Did you see more than one 35s in Reading? I didn’t.

So what? Seeing two 35s doesn’t negate the value of seeing one 35 especially since we have such a small sample size to begin with. IF you think that person was lying, or ■■■■■■■■, then how do you know that the other people weren’t ■■■■■■■■? I might as well not even consider that thread. How do i know they’re all telling the truth? My point is that you have no reason to assume ANY of them were lying.

The only person who had a 35 on the reading claimed to have the only 36 also.

I fail to see your point. Are you arguing that a person can’t have a 36 composite with a 35 on the reading?

Here this person repeats they have a 36 on the act http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/georgetown-university/1004314-chances-ea-georgetown.html#post1065667272</a></p>

so it would be a pretty long ■■■■■.

^thank you for proving my point.

I don’t see anyone should be so inclined to not believe a 36 especially when there’s so much self-selection factoring in. Chances are that scores would be skewed.

No…he isn’t a ■■■■■, there were very few people who even got 34+ on the reading on that thread. Sample size is too low call him a ■■■■■; if he says he got a 35, I would believe it.

@yale: Like I said, that was just the feeling I got; you can choose to believe it or not, I don’t care.

how do you know this? where did you find it?

Did someone say the October 09 test was the same as the one we just took?
That doesn’t seem fair…

English seemed normal, with a side of easier
Math seemed normal as well
Reading seemed to be drenched in easiness. That may just be me all of the info seemed to just appear to me this time around(actually found the info in the passage not just o I think its this one)
Science seemed easier than the previous test

Yes, everything but math and the essay.

I agree with Oklahoma about everything but reading. The English was easy on grammar and moderate on rhetoric (at least, those were the most debated questions). I felt that math was far easier than previous tests, but that may have been because of my preparation since the last test. Likewise, I felt that this science section was easier than the last science section that I did. Reading though, I felt was more challenging that other tests. I’m confirmed to have missed one in English, two in math, zero in science, but five in reading; when I did the practice tests though, I missed an average of 3 on the reading (red book + 3 PR 1,296 tests). Perhaps it was just me, reading was my lowest score in the last test as well, but I thought that this test was more difficult than the standard one.

English for me was normal,

Math was normal,

I’m not sure why you guys think reading was so hard, the stories were interesting to me and I was able to virtually read them all with ample time left. So it was pretty easy in my eyes.

Science was the same as reading, interesting and easy to finish.
