I put coral reef too then when I read whoever’s post about “biome” i was like… NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO…

Does anyone specifically remember? I thought it said something along the lines of ecosystem?

I put coral reef too then when I read whoever’s post about “biome” i was like… NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO…

Does anyone specifically remember? I thought it said something along the lines of ecosystem?

I think it just asked which of the following is the most diverse.

I put coral reef as well.

What was the matching question with the donkey and the mule?

Hybrid between to species

oh i put like engineering or something…

The coral reef is a marine aquatic biome and of the possible choices it was the most diverse. It was the answer.

Bicarbonate is a buffer right?

yes, bicarbonate is a buffer

crap i got -5 or something then…

For the enzyme to denature did you guys put freezing?

did you guys put net movement of water to the solute for the question about diffusion?

this test seems similar to the May 2008 exam, (i took it in 9th grade)

I put 100 degrees for the enzyme denaturing thing. Proteins can be stored by freezing, but extreme heat denatures them. Net movement of water to solute is correct.

I think the answer was Coral Reef since it’s the most diverse and it’s not part of the Benthic biome, it’s neritic!

Anyone know which one wasn’t the Arthropod?

For that one i put the leech, and I agree with the coral reef one. Same with the net movement of water.

i picked temp. decid. oh no…
^yes, i got leech as well (no hard exoskeleton)

But isnt like the human body temperature like around 100?

Lol, no, its close to 100 fahrenheit, but in the test it was celsius.

Bio M
Compiled List (not in order):

1,2 - Mitochondria
3,4 - chloroplast/cell membrane
Eye - retina, lens, and ciliary muscles
Horse/Donkey –> Mule = hybrid
Yeast reproduction - asexual reproduction
some other reproduction scenario…
Genetic variance of sexual reproduction - crossing-over and recombination
Prokaryotes/Eukaryotes share which organelle - ribosomes
Plant drawing - palisade mesophyll (site of phoyosynth.), Stomata, and cuticle
Phloem question - choices were cambium, xylem cells?, and companion cells. I think i put companion cells, but that’s not right IMO.
Not part of arthropods - leeches
Catss/Dogs same class - same phylum
Plant research - during day produces more O2
Which of the following is true - O2 is by-product of photosynthesis
19. Darwin’s natural selection is most evident in populations
Estrogen - I, II, and III
Implantation of embryo location - Uterus
Clumped population - competition or ans. choice C
Allele frequency would be least affected by random mating. You have to realize that the other choices are violations of the HWP
Genetics - 3:1 ratio, so Bb x Bb
Genetics - 100 % of purple will be Bb
Lichen - could be a mutualist/parasite but best answer is probably mutualist
Order of fossil evidence - IMO this question was ridiculously hard, so i omitted this one. I think the answer had dinosaurs appearing last.
Primates - most closely related to primates
Convergent evolution - whale and shark since they are derived from same ancestor
Enzyme - most denatured at 100 degrees centigrade
Least likely blood type of child - Type O
ABO types - agglutination rxns according to what im hearing, but might be hemoglobin structure
Most diverse biome - Temp. Decid. Forest since coral reef is not a biome, but rather an ecosystem. The ev. for coral reef is also just not sufficient. The article doesn’t even mention the word biome once.
Tundra - can’t grow deeproots
Energy from phytoplankton to third trophic level - 10% –> 1% –> .1%
Bicarbonate ions in the blood - carry carbon
Cell division order - begins w/ interphase (undifferentiable chromosomes) and end with two cells undergoing division again (cell plate fragmented slightly)
Cell divison - Plant since cell plate
Chromosome attached at one end - ans. choice B, i think?
Vine data - confirms hypothesis
Vine graph - the control grew more steeply than vine
Mice Litter - 85/120 = 80%,
Mice Litter - delayed birth –> death
Mice :Litter - must be from same litter
Bacterial Protein Synth. Drawing - Ribosome was 6
Bacterial Protein Synth. Drawing - hydrogen bonds were 2
Bacterial Protein Synth. Drawing - mRNA was 5
Muscle - electrochemical signal so either electrical or chemical. IMO it’s electrical because an action potential is always electrical
Changes in environment detected first by - Nervous system
ATP - hydrolysis to ADP + i stimulates myosin head
Amino Acid drawing - Amino Acid
peptide bond would occur - @ 2 i believe since it has a nitrogen that is only bonded to carbon
By-product - CO2 (C and double bonded O)
Highest rate of photosynthesis - violet
Aquatic algae - low amount of chlorophyll is best ans. since it assumes the least.
Semipermeable membrane - H20 flows back and forth
Stained DNA - Chromosomes bolded

Why is clumped population due to competition? Wouldn’t competition make it harder for organisms to survive in large groups? I thought increase in mating chances made more sense.

Good question, but a clumped population is a result of a lack of resources, and a lack of resources leads to increased competition for survival.
