1st time I took it in June after I finished precalc/trig: 690
2nd time I took it after done with 1st semester ap calc b.c.: 790

For me, the lessons don’t help, just take practice tests. I went through all barron’s test twice, 2 of the sparknotes, and 2 of the official. The day before I took it the 2nd time, I got a 790 on an official practice test.

750, first time. I expected 800, sad. would this work for MIT, Ivies with 750 chem, 780 phy?
problem is, my math, phy, chem are vast for my level (up to 3rd year university level) and my teachers specified these in my recommendation letters. could these have a bad effect on my application?

@ hexxcoat, I’m no authority on the subject, but from all I’ve heard and read- I think anything above a 700, preferrably 750 is just fine…wouldn’t fret over that so much if I were you =D

I had taken the Math II test twice and got a 690 both times :(… I plan on majoring in math so will that severely hinder my chances of making it into a decent college?

@wizkid I hadn’t taken any other tests yet because I’m in 10th grade (skipped two years of math), do you think I could at least make it into something like Pitt University?

If you are in the 10th grade, you can retake it… It doesn’t have to hurt you at all. In the 10th grade, I would have gotten like a 450. In fact, I would have gotten a 450 6 months ago lol. If your final Math Level II is a 690, yes that would really hurt you at schools like Harvard, MIT, and other ivy-league tier schools.

One thing I would not advise is taking the test excessively. Some schools require you to send in all test scores regardless if you want to or not, so keep that in mind. However, taking it in 10th grade and not doing so hot does not have to ruin your chances.

For the record, I got a 660 in October and an 800 in December. You are 800-material. You just have to extract it out of yourself.

I got a 760. I took practice tests from Barrons and Princeton Review. On the Princeton Review I got a 700 and the Barrons I got something around the 600s. I didn’t get to finish my test either, I skipped like 5 questions. Anything above a 700 was acceptable to me. :)
