DECEMBER 2011 SAT Pre/Post Test Discussion

Currently having a heart attack since it's my first time. And last week I was excited...

Same position as you haha! Hope to do well and get it over with. Hows preperation going?
I just hope cr doesnt kill me and writing doesnt have a harsh curve.

CR-omg. my worst subject! actually I have been significantly improving, but if the curve is as bad as last time (-5=710) I am thoroughly screwed.
Also, my parents expect a perfect for math. This is partly the cause of my hyperventilation.

Btw, which prep books did you use for CR?

I used Barron’s, but really, CR is something that I absolutely despise. I’m not too concerned about CR, though, since I did pretty well on it last time. I know I can do a lot better on the essay, and as long as I don’t screw myself over in math again, I should do well.

Hoping this to be the last time.

Online course and blue book. Most authentic resources available. Vocab so many different things.

My biggest problem is those fiction narrative passages. When I read those I feel like im going crazy.

^Now that I think about it, the excerpts from novels are definitely the hardest!

@cheerioswithmilk what was your score (approximately) previous times? u a junior?

I didn’t like the CB online course. Most of the tests of the online course can be found free on the net. I knew it after I bought it. Waste of 70 bucks.

For the first BB practice test, why is the curve for CR so… generous? usually -4 gives you about 750-770 (on average 770)?

risubu, I’m actually a sophomore. I can’t think of a very good reason for why I’m taking the SAT sophomore year, except to make junior year a little less miserable.

I scored a 2250 in October, 760 CR, 750 M, 740 W.

cheeriowithmilk…
omg i hate you!!! you got 2250 and you are like oh I screwed it up…
jk, but…still, you make me sad

I’m a sophomore taking the SAT for a boarding school app. My second time taking it. To cheerioswithmilk, give me some pointers on how to score that high. I’m looking for at least a 1900 which I think will seal my chance at this boarding school. CR is my big worry as of now, but I’ve been doing better as of Thursday.

Sent from my ADR6350 using CC App

@cheerioswithmilk 2250 is my goal! I suppose now that it is a cc-standard: get a 2250 on your first try. maybe? idk

Well I’ll probably end up canceling this one…I got sick three days before :frowning: at least I don’t have a headache anymore but I keep coughing soooo much…

I’m hoping for a 2300+, but I find myself stuck in the 2200s so I’m hoping for a good curve. If nothing goes wrong, I can probably get 800 in math, miss 2-3 in writing, get 10+ on the essay, and miss 4 in reading. I REALLY HOPE NOTHING GOES WRONG!!! But of course something always does…and it already has with my sickness :((

Hey, I am from Nepal, and I just gave my exam. The SAT CR section was difficult! I left around 10 questions in CR, around 3 questions in Maths, and 1 question in Writing! :(

I seriously hope I get 2100+. I really need that score to get into a good college! :’(
