@bsdsj22 : But in academic writing, “but” cannot used to open a sentence. I’m confused in this question and finally choose to follow that grammar rule.

@thewindisblowing

It is grammatically correct to open a sentence with a conjunction.

the desirable one is wrong
The right one is weak to energetic
Thank you for the information!!!

@bsdsj22 : yep, I just gg search, it’s correct. Now i got 3 wrongs
do you remember the question about “Astronomer”?

What is the maximum value question?

@Cornellee I’m sure that’s desirable because it mentions rivalry between writers to get their works accepted
About “disconsolate or playful” and “excuse or confess” and “will not approve her home or did not interest in her background”? What did you choose?

@Cornellee

The consensus is desirable. You were wayyyy off.

Maximum value was 11

@thewindisblowing

playful
excuse
will not approve her home

Are the correct answers

I have several questions. In that Time passage, why it mentions all those names of scientists like newton and Einstein? Is it to represent famous scientists or to refute their claims or choice B including something about it fails to do? And in that China passage, is it uninterrupted contact with the chair or affectionate proximity with the chair? And in that Danny and Ria one, the function of several paragraphs is to state some unexpected developments or to lay some grounds for the latter part of the passage? And why is Danny playful, not disconsolate?

Hi everyone.
I have a few questions regarding the answers. Maybe they’re wrong, but I would like to have a say.

  1. Pointed->Pertinent
    I fail to agree with this consensus. Sure, pertinent may fit into the sentence perfectly. But why not think again? Why has the author user the word ‘pointed’ and not any other word?
    Maybe the example that was given was suitable, but does the author anywhere state/imply that it was the most suitable?
    The word ‘pointed’ implies something sharp, spear-like, or in a broader sense, something which hurts, or even something that is compelling.
    I do not see why the author would use ‘pointed’ as a substitute for ‘suitable’.
    I feel the answer to is ‘agressive’ in the sense that the example was assertive, or binding, or compelling, or non-refutable.

@derpro

You are overthinking this question. The word is in context and not the literal definition.

Guys I made around 12-14 errors and 1 omitted. I know I screwed it up. But still how much can I expect in CR based on the November curve? Thanks.

And guys do you remember the answer of Section 8 Maths sum number 15, where there was an equation given something like (x-3) (x+1) =0. What could be the answer of this? I wrote only I, but some folks are telling II & III only.

I agree with @bsdsj22 you just think too much
And @xi56du i chose unexpected development because Ria thinks her family will not like Danny, but when they meet him, they seem like him.

@thewindisblowing is correct.

@JohnDoe69

It was 3 only because 2 had x=0 as a solution
You are sitting around 600~620 for CR on this curve.

some updates for the CR section
Critical reading part 1
Passage: Short: Pair: Photograph: less contrived, reality, express some feelings in the picture
Long: Danny and Ria: playful; excuse; presumptious; reality versus fantasy; Ria was worry; building relationship; forced civilized; reluctant realistic; will not appreciate the gift; will not approve her home; complicated men are usually: dissect social dynamic ; state some unexpected development
Part 2:
Short passage:
-Shoes: analogy: introduced species
-Chimpanzee: example for misconception
-Long pair-passage: Historian
Only outstanding historians; thorough and impartial; conclude an explanation for himself; a study and its practitioners; relationship between two passages? anyone remember?
Time passage: inconsistency between theory and reality; prominent figure; difference between perception and science; emphasize the previous point; undirect of time; describe an experiment; pointed -> pertinent; can go reverse of time
Part 3:
China passage: necessity and ambition; uninterupt contact with the chair; desparate and desirable; publishers are numerous and available; provide context; analogy: people is needing food; deliver= drop off; reaction with reject: he can resumbit easily
Guys, please post if anyone remember anything else from the test! (Especially the sentence completion section, since we already have a lot of passage-based questions here)

@thewindisblowing

Dissect social dynamic is in the Danny and Ria where complicated men are usually…

@bsdsj22 yep, sorry, I forget that. I’ve edited my post

SCs:

Vertiges
Prescience
Versatility
Useful - Avoiding
Ambition - Availabily (last one in 20 minute)
Effort

Can’t remember the rest because they were to easy; these were the ones I thought a lot about.
