December 3rd Audition

Anyone else auditioning December 3rd?? I’m actually pretty excited (of course nervous too!!) for my audition! I loved Roosevelt when I visited.
Also, any parents/students willing to share their past audition experiences at CCPA??

Hello. My daughter is currently a CCPA MT freshman. She absolutely loves everything about Roosevelt. The schools location, dorms, and facilities have been an ideal fit. The programs demanding curriculum, the experienced professors, and talented classmates have all exceeded her expectations. As a parent, it is comforting to know after 14 auditions, 7 extremely fortunate acceptances, that she strongly feels she made the perfect choice. The auditions seemed to go very smoothly for the students. They had 30 min. dance followed by the monologue and song cuts. Her audition visit was during the Chicago Unifieds. The school did not have a parent’s agenda, but after her dance students from the program gave us a Conservatory department tour with a Q & A session. It was more informative than most other schools scheduled presentations. Please request a personal CCPA tour. Sorry I don’t have any particular comments on the audition itself, my daughter just said the dance was fairly intense, but fun, the audition was held in a loud room, and that the professor made her feel very welcomed. Good luck with all your auditions. Don’t be nervous. Enjoy every minute of it. “Break a leg”.

Thanks for your reply – I did have a personal CCPA tour over the summer when I visited, and it was a great experience. So welcoming and they actually acknowledge the uniqueness of every student, unlike other colleges I have visited. I will say that CCPA recently sent me an email saying the December 3rd audition dance call was cancelled, that it wouldn’t affect the audition in any way, and to put experience on our resumes. An interesting surprise, but I won’t worry about it much. If anything, one less thing to worry about! Again, thanks for your comments. CCPA is my dream school, and even if I don’t get in, I will enjoy seeing the lovely campus again :)

Yes, the dance call for this weekend is cancelled. Current students have our auditions for next semesters season on that day, so things are a little crazy and faculty that we thought were going to be available aren’t going to be. But don’t worry because we don’t do dance calls in NYC or LA at Unifieds either. And the same faculty member that would normally watch auditions is still going to be there. So all is well and it won’t affect the audition at all. I’ll be working auditions on Saturday, so if you guys have any questions, let me know. And break a leg!

Oh, that makes sense! Thanks!

I also auditioned on the 3rd and had a wonderful experience. The staff and students were all very friendly and made me feel welcome. I love the city too! I got their decision today and it’s a no, but best of luck to you!

Wow, that’s a quick decision! and yes, I had a very similar experience! haven’t heard anything yet. best of luck to you in your college search!

actually just checked my email - it’s a no for me too! oh well, onward and upward!!
