December ACT 2008 Reading

It was (A)

wheat girl

Point of view was ‘‘a girl who wanted to attend college, which is determined if they sell wheat’’?

choice C i think

Oh, I think I got that “The girl is anxious to go to college, but is aware of the events that may interfere”

I think that’s what I got hipster23.

^ ya, that one

I think I got what rjacob got

I forget if it was the same as what hipster said…

I put she was unsure because in the passage it was like “we have to sell soon, if I’m going to university that is” or something like that.

I think the answer choice for “unsure” stated that she was unsure about whether she wanted to go to college or not. I think it was pretty clear from her excitement that she was sure she wanted to go to college, but wasn’t sure if the circumstances would benefit her cause.

Hipster we keep getting the same things lol…

there was one about the squids

the answer choices were-

they have yet to be found in the stomachs of whales
and they have yet to be seen wash ashore

I was so lost on this one…

it was that they have yet to be seen wash ashore

nena give me more and i think i can answer that one. i vaguely remember taht question…

for the saturn temple/assryian question - i said they both were reconstructed/modified after the first time they were built. pretty sure that’s right.

i put broadcast of wheat, not the radio. you can “turn up” a broadcast as well…

agreeing with most people so far though…

reading was okay, english was … eh, math was hard, science was wow hard. :P

No, I think it was that they have yet to be seen alive underwater.

I can’t really remember the question but it wasn’t that they have yet to be seen alive because the article mentioned they have been seen in many cases unintentionally.

Does anyone remember this question???

The question was what was true about the giant squid. There were two species of squid discussed: the “new” squid that was about 13 ft. long and found accidently and the giant squid washed up on shores and never seen alive. Trust me, I saw it in the passage and have seen it in Discovery channel a couple times, the giant squid was never seen alive.

i think that question was talking about the giant squid and the people said it existed but never washed ashore because their bodies were eatern or degraded. idk i was confident about that but im probably wrong b/c i suck at reading.

ok i guess im wrong hipster

I chose the one that said, “They have yet to be seen alive in their natural habitat.” I’m pretty sure I read the same exact thing in the text too.

The squid was seen unintentionally by oil drillers and scientists.

It was found by love by some guy because of his girlfriend.

The big squids weren’t seen alive underwater.

Dr Odor’s quote suggests that there is so much more for us to understand about the deep sea and we probably won’t because they move too fast.

^me too. I’m pretty sure that’s right.

whats -6 in reading? 30? ugh
