December ACT / CSE chances??

Hi, I applied to CSE with a complete application on November 19
ACT: 27
UW GPA: 3.69
W GPA: 4.08 (13 APs)
However, I retook the ACT yesterday and believe that score improved to ~29.
I will send in my new score, but will the U of M still consider the new ACT score that will be sent in past the priority deadline? Should I call the office to make sure they reconsider my application?

I would call the office and check if they will accept your new act score.

Thank you for responding @Lucker, I will call them when I get my full score report.
I just got my scores back and found out that I got a 32!!! My new stats are
ACT: 32
UW GPA: 3.69
W GPA: 4.08 (13 APs)
With good extracurriculars
What do you think my chances are??

WE ARE EXACTLY THE SAME. I had a 27 on my ACT last time (31 E, 28 M, 23 R, 26 S), when I took it in june. Retook it expecting also around a 28-29, and ended up with a 32!! (34 E, 31 M, 27 R, 34 S). I also applied to the U with a 27 and got denied from CSE and accepted into CLA. I called the admissions office and sent the 32 in November and 2 weeks later I got a notification that I got into CSE. I would say you have a really good chance of getting in, but they did say that getting it after the priority date will hurt but I would still say you have a good chance!!

Hi @DSants ! That’s really nice to hear, Congratulations! What was your UW/W GPA? Did your tracker change to “Your application is being very carefully considered” before you got accepted?
Also, my ACT scores were 32C (30E, 34M, 33R, 30S)
The U of M CSE is my top choice, so I’m kinda worried.

Umm I checked it everyday and it went from we received all your materials to “congratulations on CSE”

Accepted!

@minnesota98

Congrats!

I applied to CSE in October with a 31 and a decent GPA (3.75+) with course rigor. I have yet to receive a decision yet. What should I do? Should I be worried?

When does your 1st semester end? You can send in your 1st semester transcript because they automatically reconsider your application when you send in new information. We have similar stats, so I wouldn’t be worried.

@minnesota98 congrats!!!
