December ACT

Anyone gonna take the December Act, I am hopefully much easier then the october one(especially the science)...
What books are you guys using to prepare
I have Barrons(like 3 yrs old) and Kaplans(2005 edition)
which one do you guys recommend using?

Do you know what score you made on the October ACT. Many said that it was hard but came out with fairly good scores. What score are you aiming for anyways?

October test: 25
I wasn't one of the lucky ones who still managed to wing a good score. I'm retaking this december. I plan on using Kaplan 2005 if I can get a hold of it.

I'm with Gujuvandydreamer, I hope this test is a lot easier, especially Science.

I'm retaking. I need a new study plan though.

I'm taking it as well. I took the October one and got a 29. That was without studying and I kinda doozed off during the reading section. This time, I am going to use the Princeton Review prep book, and whatever else I can get my hands on. I really need to bring up my science. My English and Math are okay, but definately could be better. Reading...well I have mild ADD anyway, so...

So what's your plan of action for preparing?

I liked "The real ACT prep guide" but i am not taking it again untill the spring

ohh bump..

I'm going to take the SAT I or WH and Lit SAT II's in January. I already got my ACT scores and Math was my lowest one, 27 composite and 11 in writing. I'll retake the ACT probably in Feb.

this is is soo lame. You guys are all super nerds arent you?? upset over scores of 25, 27 and even 30.

your all lucky.

why is being an achiver lame? If you know you can do better than a 32 why shouldnt you be upset over it? Wanting to reach your potential doesnt make you a nerd, and if it does i would much rather reach my potential and be a nerd than say ok, im fine with a 25 and get a less good education at a less good college.

Stuck, tell that to Michael Jordan. He didnt make his high school basketball team so he should deal with it and not improve? I think we all know the answer to that.

stuck686, its not the score that we got, but we know that we're capable of something better, we refuse to settle. We are what the top colleges are looking for...we have drive and ambition to become better.

I was perfectly content with my 27 until I realized that it put me in the lower quartile for all of the schools that I am applying to. I still have not decided if I should take the December test yet but I know that I need to. If I could just bring english to a 32 and math to a 27 I would be very very happy.

I guess I have to add myself to this list. I give up with the SAT!!!
Does it look bad if you are from a eastern state, like NJ, and you take the ACT instead of the SAT?

I'm not sure if it's bad, but I know it doesnt look good. It's common sense...he couldnt do well enough on the SAT, so he switched to ACT. However, all these other people from Jersey do fine on the SAT...

When do scores come for the December ACT?

Online (for a fee), supposedly tomorrow (12/20) -- at least "most scores" will "start" to be available tomorrow according to the ACT website. Whatever that means. Scores in the mail will probably be here in a few weeks.

I think that two more weeks and they will come in the mail.

im not checking early because last time i did that, 2 days after the scores arrived in the mail and i was like ***!
