December SAT Curve Predictions

What do you think it will be?

My personal opinion is

CR: -1 800 (it might just be me but i thought this section was HARD!)
W: -1 780 (reasonable)
M: -1 760 (i thought the section this time was fairly easy)

What do you guys think?

^Seems right. The math was pretty easy and the CR was hard. I’m hoping for only one or two off per section.

I think I got a -2 CR -1 W and -0 M, probably a 10 essay. What scores do you think that would correspond to?

Probably 800/800/800. If not, it will be a 790 for the W. but -2 CR and -0M are always (at least 99% of the time) 800’s. Congrats.

^ Lol, they would never administer an SAT where -0 M isn’t an 800. I don’t think the math is -1 as a 760. That is uncharacteristically harsh; something almost unheard of even for the int’l SAT.

^I was referring to the CR with the 99%.

for math, it’ll probably be -1 780, -2 760.

Regarding what monstor344 said about the international SAT, when I did it a few years ago, -1 on M was 770 on a January test (my friend got that and got QAS to see what he got wrong), so it can be fairly harsh.

I’m wondering however, is the curve for the international test meant to be harder or easier than the American tests? Or are they the same?

Ah, just realized one mistake I made on math so now I think I’m -1.

What are the chances that a -1 this time on math is still an 800?

Now that I think about it, some of the problems on that math test were pretty hard.

The pr was tricky with the numbers that pr could be divisible by. The problem with 1/100 was tricky. To name a few.

What do you all think?

I hope that -1 in reading is 800 and -1 in math is 800. Writing I have no idea but it seemed pretty easy so the curve might be harsh.

Wow, was math section THAT easy for some? I got an 800 last time and I thought this one was kinda hard.

I missed the question with (1/100) so far, maybe 1or2 more from silly mistakes–though I’m hoping to avoid those.

I felt the math was somewhere in between May 2009 and Oct 2009: relatively easy, with some more challenging questions. I omitted one, so hopefully -1 is 790 or 780.

Hmm, based on the previous SATs I’ve done, it seems like the December SAT was more or less balanced. There was no blatantly hard section.

The reading section had a lot of easy questions and a few hard questions (like it should).

The math section was either easy or moderately difficult.

And the writing section was more or less even.

I’m thinking the curve will just end up being…
CR: -1 (800), -2(780)
Math: -1 (780), -2 (760)
Wr: -1 (780), -2 (760)

You guys know that CR is usually -2 = 800 right? And the reading comp in this one was trickier than the reading comp in BB tests. I think we’ll see something like -2 = 800, -3 = 780, -3 = 760/770.

I find that they usually are trickier than the BB tests in general…

I think CR -1 and -2 are 800, then 780 and 760
-1 math around 780
-1 writing with an essay of 10 maybe 800, but -2 probably 780?

^that sounds like pretty much what I was thinking.

CR:
67 800
66 800
65 800
64 780
63 770
62 750
61 740
60 730
59 710
58 700

M
54 800
53 800
52 760
51 740
50 730

W (12 essay)
49 800
48 800
47 780
46 760
45 750
44 740
43 720
42 700

^ My thoughts exactly, nat.

CR was pretty tough, and I highly doubt I got a 12 on this essay…

hahhaah. -1 will not be 800. Has the curve ever been that generous in SAT history??? I think it’ll be -1 : math 780.

^Yes, as a matter of fact, it has. Check out the curves for 05/07, 10/06, 05/09, and 01/06
