December SAT Int. test

NVM about the triangle question.

hey, all? I took the test in Mongolia. And I've got a few questions to ask.
Do you guys recall the question about discounted phone calls? Like $3.60 and what price would it be if the phone call is made in (some range)? Oh yeah, now I remember it was 11th question. Was the answer choice for number ten 15??
Also, in one of the math sections, there was a question about tokens.
3 and 5 and total of 585. I put 585/3=195. Does one have to possess 5-points tokens? There was nothing clarified about this, so I just put 195. Anyone?
PS: Waited for you guys to start discussing, but I couldn't help sleeping. LOL>
I always bomb the CR section. haha

I don't know about the price range one; I forget. The token on is correct.

i got 585 and 195 too. yay

gtg to bed

will check tmr ;)

To an earlier post, i did get ascribed. Does anyone remember other vocab's? did you get monitored or registered? I couldn't figure it out. Also, some of the others I got were straightforward, indifferent and some word that started with a "v'. Did anyone get that?

the token one should be 193. the question would be way too easy to be just 585/3 = 195...right?

i got 195 =/ i was confused cause it seemed too easy too!
but it never said that bothh tokens were used

do you guys remember any of the writingg? i remember there were 2-3 that were pretty trickyyy

Can anyone repeat the "answers" from the writer and her friend passage? I highly doubt three of the four answers. Because in the second passage it actually says that the writer ignores critiques. It does not say that he is not hard working or he never tries, at least I don't think.

And for last question, I didn't get evocative because I did not think the short passage was trying to evoke feeling or being significant in anyway. I forgot the other choices.

I am so nervous about Dec. 20th. Should I cancel my scores? I think I did worse on the math section and the essay but probably higher in writing multiple choice and slightly higher in critical reading multiple choice. I'm in such a quandary...

And also, a girl at my test centre fainted today.

What did you guys put for the Math question about 12 chairs? Was it 36 or 72? Cause I put 36, but even in the other sections I was thinking it should have been 72. I was so tempted to change it lol.

foldedpaper, for the 585 tokens math question, people are saying that the answer is 585/3 = 195! do you agree? as you said, i also put down 193 thinking that if the question mentions $5 tokens, there must be $5 tokens included in the combination! im confuzzled. do you now think that 195 wrong?
sad

though it referred 3 and 5 tokens,
it never said you should use both tokens

so the answer should be 195

Any one who remember sen/com? :(

It should be evocative as in it evokes images by description. It was definitely not scholarly, nor pedantic since there was no analysis of any kind in the passage. the rest of the choices were also implausible.

As for square probability question, it should be 1/16 not 1/8. If one notices the trend, each inscribed square has half of the original square's area, ie. for the first inscribed square, its sides is rt(8), therefore area 8. By the same logic the 2nd inscribed square has an area of 4, the 3rd 2 and the last shaded one 1. Therefore the probability is 1/16

Btw there is this question for CR on legislation. I put "dilatory....forestalled" but I don't know why is it so (no reference to delaying the legislation in the sentence). Its not "unpremeditated....thwarted" because she engineered it (therefore, was premeditated). What did you guys put?

i remember a few....indifferent, dilatory, disciminiating.....did you get any of those???

hey, for the token question, it said that the person in question had both 3-point coins and 5-point coins, so you have to take the 5-point coins into account.

for the evocative question, it was evocative because it was describing the scenery and the remnants of Petra and it tried to put you in the place of the person visiting the site, i think it may have even used the "you" pronoun to directly do this, so it was pretty clear. The other answers were really off from what i recall.

72 for chairs.

to a post way above, i got mitigated instead of monitored (the fur/coats/blubbler/etc. help the animals "compromise/control" their body temperatures, not monitor them. i don't remember a registered, but it's not because i didn't select it per se, i just don't remember. the rest you are right.

LOL major crosspost, tomo you're right

discriminating?
can you explain thoroughly?

yep, they had disciminating taste!

It was because the sea otters were described as being really choosy with their diet. They have many options but only choose to eat a few of the choices, so they are discriminatory.

He had two kinds of token but he don't have to use it.

It said 'least' so you can just use $3 token only
